    E-bikes to be banned

Same here. Was plagued by them before and zero instances since the ban.

    E-bikes to be banned

If people stuck to purchasing and using well made made bikes from reputable manufacturers which meet all regulations with proven safety records then this wouldn’t have been an issue. Unfortunately, some users have taken it upon themselves to modify their existing bikes with the cheapest...

    E-bikes to be banned

The same way normal bikes are banned from deep level tube by station staff being vigilant, by enforcement by TfL‘s own enforcement teams (whatever they’re called this week) and by drivers refusing to move trains until they alight. Message will soon get across and I imagine staff will be telling...

    Are London Underground mice darker

You don’t mess with an Underground mouse. They carry flick knives and everything and will have your arm off given half a chance…

Weed smell coming from back of Victoria Line train!

If you are absolutely sure and I mean absolutely sure that it was coming from the rear cab then an emergency handle would be appropriate to alert the driver. You should report it sooner rather than later as as long as you have a rough time and directio/station, cctv can be checked of the train...

Tube driver filming himself whilst driving

Whilst I can’t see why he‘d do this as the canteen ribbing must be off the scale I can’t really see the difference between this and having a member of P-way in my cab with a camera stuck to the window of the ‘m’ door filming the track which happens quite often.

Trivia: Most pieces of luggage for one person on a train

Back when I first started many, many moons ago a passenger and her spouse managed to get on a Picc line train with about 20 suitcases. All filled, all heavy as the proverbial. Train had to be held whist they manhandled all their bags off and in the meantime ‘all hands’ were sent to assist. Got...

    Staff toilets

Company has minimum standards on toilet facilities and a cleaner will be called fairly quickly should they *ahem* fall below standard. For Drivers they’ll be located at various points that are convenient and quickly accessed so at terminus’s where you have a bit more time plus a couple dotted...

    Excessively noisy London Underground

Ear defenders are a must now. Company will supply a pair on request but most buy their own as the company supplied ones seem to want to squeeze your brain to mush which can be a tad uncomfortable. Even some platform staff are wearing them now.

Returning to work after a fatality??

When I had mine there was an excellent support structure put around me and a careful laid out plan to ease me back into it. I went out with an instructor and we repeatedly went over the incident area with my IO keeping a close eye on my reactions and then I’d go through the area on my own with...

    Pay dispute at London Underground

From a driver's perspective, this year's 5% was a no strings pay deal only. The next negotiations were supposedly to sort out the driver's modernization plan and will be far far more onerous to sort. Combining the two into a multi year deal will not be without major headaches and possibly more...

    Pay dispute at London Underground

Think you'll find most drivers (well, about 75% anyway) will be turning up. Aslef have agreed to accept the offer. Try harder next time.

After NOG, there’s no reversing points until your past WestHam so not sure how you’re going to reverse at Canning Town.

Minimum Service Levels Bill receives Royal Assent

Those who are ‘forced’ to work strike day most certainly will work their rostered shift and not some lashed up last minute timetable. unions must give 2 weeks notice for strike action and unfortunately the company can only move our shifts by 2 hours otherwise 28 days notice must be given.
