  • These are the groups I have joined:

    europeanrail - European Rail Gen
CDGEN - Czech & Slovak Rail Gen
    DB-locoinfo - DB Locomotive Information
HunRail · You want to know about railways in Hungary but don't speak Hungarian?

I've copied and pasted above directly from Yahoo Groups the short title and the long title/description, which should help you find the groups. In the case of CDGEN, when I was looking to join it, the search in Yahoo Groups just brought up an old spam-ridden group, but Google was able to find the correct one!

I hope this info is helpful.

    Cheers,

    Gary
    Hello Richard,

Firstly, may I apologise for my very slow reply! I only noticed your message when I logged in this evening. The forum sends me emails when I get a PM, but presumably not a "visitor message".

I've only got seriously interested in European rail travel in the last couple of years or so, but have got very much drawn in!

In terms European workings, for general info, I have found this forum to be a good source, along with the "Four foot eight and a half" forum. The latter is particularly strong regarding Czech matters, which is where I spend a lot of time (I've just come back from a week over there, where almost all travel was loco-hauled).

As well as the forums, there are several Yahoo Groups that are well worth joining. These have messages posted about workings, but also have files sections, where people post loco diagrams - very handy when planning trips.
