Firstly am I right these are dispatched by platform staff at East Croydon but not at Three Bridges? Three Bridges has a large number of dispatchers but the platform by the old signal box (soon to be closed) appears to have no platform staff working it
Secondly this service has always been DOO since its inception. Are there any drivers on this forum who have worked with a conductor whilst with another TOC and then moved over to work DOO services? From a drivers perspective does this have a big impact on the role and should DOO drivers be paid more than a driver operating a driver/conductor service to reflect this?
From a passengers perspective it appears apparent the trains are not in as good a condition as Southern's however this is, superficially ay least, a perpetual problem for this route. I appreciate RPOs make frequent ticket checks.
Were conductors not deemed necessary due to the frequent stopping pattern? It must be unerving for Southern conductors to see DOO 377s passing by even though they have long been equipped with external cameras
