Just received a letter to invite me to some tests in a couple of weeks. Over the moon. Looking forward to it.

Same. The letter talks about a Pre-screen, followed by further tests later. Does anyone know what this pre-screen entails?

Also, Will psychometric tests already passed with a TOC previously, need to be retaken with FLHH?

I prefer to ask here first, before troubling their HR with questions as no doubt they are snowed under right now

Thanks

I've received my 'next stage' letter this morning too. Just reading through the example questions and tests, but any help from you guys on what to expect at this first stage would be much appreciated! :D

well it looks like some of you guys have made it. No letter for me..... its frustrating as the same application got me to test stage with EMT, (Passed stage 1 but put in a pool for stage 2) the only thing I can think of is I fluffed the test on the application or its my location, but I did say I would relocate. Well ill try and try again. good luck to everyone with a letter and get practising them tests!!

Milldog....my location is St Andrews Scotland but i did specify that i would be willing to relocate. Getting to Crewe for 0845 in the morning is an interesting one. Looks like travelling through the night for me! Hopefully your letter may come tomorrow. I am sure there will be more sent out yet. Keep the faith!

I got my answer after calling HR. Seems the "Pre-Screen" is the 1st stage of the testing process. So I expect you will do GB test, Trp1+2 TEAOcc and others.
Fortunately, I have already done them so, I will now just have to wait for a call to a DM Interview.

Good Luck to all those that got shortlisted

cheers mate thank you. maybe it was the test if no letter tomorrow. if I was you id probably get a cheap b+b or Travelodge the night before. I wouldn't say the test is hard but you really need to concentrate. you don't wont blurred vision before you even start!

for anyone that wants info on the tests its all on here, really helped me find out what to expect.

I wouldn't give up hope just yet. With the volume of applicants, I would expect letters to be received over a couple of days, as simply getting them all out in one go and Royal Mail delivering them all on the same day are nigh on impossible. I could be wrong, but makes sense to me.

I wonder what they are doing with people that have passed all the tests and interviews with other FOCs that have applied?

ill give it to Saturday until i say 5th time for a freight train driver unlucky.

Then ill ask what the heck am i doing wrong on these applications for the jobs and seek advice. Do you think the HR or recruitment teams will give me time of day to give pointers? Not just Freightliner but others?

Hi there, I'm new to this forum!
I applied for the graduate driver career as well and have yet to hear a peep. But like most people on this forum, you must muddle through and keep going!

I certainly will be.

Are you assuming you're waiting for a DM interview or is that fact?
I too have recently passed all parts of the Driver Assessment (including MMI) with another FOC, so am interested to know if I would bypass the tests for FLHH and go straight to DM interview? (Assuming my application is successful of course).

No harm in asking. What's the worst they could say? No. Have you thought about contacting the Legion or going back to your resettlement team from the army and see if they could help somehow? I know the Legion are really helpful.

yeah its worth a try i suppose i do have a lot of resources to hand about career advice but from when i was there, they had no clue. ive done what their was for courses for rail which were PTS and COSS but nothing else really. If ever they were to see my CV from building it from DB Schenker then i think that's good for a pass to the next stage. I think im going to knuckle down to see if i can pass these tests! Know any sites etc?

Ill get hold of the Legion tomorrow too.

I assume your ex forces?

Has anyone met any successfully foreigner applicant for this position? I am the one and I worry if I go through ( I know I have a little chance only), will I able to pass MMI, WCT and verbal reasoning test with my English language skills... especially writting, which must be improved. I feel pretty confident with the rest of the Psychometric Tests. I wanted to apply for this role in my country home, but I was forced to move to the UK and I quickly found that I want to stay here for good with my family. Now I know I wasted couple last years driving on the road as a HGV driver.
Besides initial test result good or bad, maybe HR not FLHR only, doesn't want to invest a big amount of money to somebody who potentially may go back to his country home? It would be understandable.
For everyone who got or will get invitation good luck. I'm on edge waiting for response.:D
Hopefully I will get one.:D

Fact, Source: FLHH HR

Apparently. those that have passed the tests already have been placed on a list.
I am a little apprehensive about repeating what I was told, for fear of giving some the wrong idea.
My advice would be to contact their HR directly if you are unsure about any aspect of the process
