How long can these last? As far as I know the four Class 365s with advertising liveries got them during WAGN's tenure. That franchise finished over a decade ago. Any that have had a set of vinyls longer?

I have it as March 2006 for WAGN operating out of Kings Cross, but yes I think the advertising liveries were applied in the WAGN days. As far as I was aware vinyl wraps tended to be replaced (assuming no changeover or rebrand) every 8-10 years or so, so they're presumably about due? I imagine they'll probably either lose them or have them redone when the rest of the 365 fleet go into the GTR livery.

I's surprised that more units aren't liveried. The sheer amount of advertising real estate is incredible.

Why aren't more trains wrapped ? Wouldn't it be a decent revenue stream for the TOC's ?

Also, weirdly, I have never seen a liveried train graffitied. Would a tagged up wrap cost more to remove and re-coat than standard graffiti removal ?

Some of Northern's Sprinters have advertising in the white stripe down the side. It looks absolutely terrible. That alone is a good reason for nationalisation ;)

FGW's Local Lines is to be fair, in part an advertising livery cleverly designed to be part of the TOCs livery as it advertises local towns villages castles beaches etc served near to or by FGW across the west.

Then there's been the Hewett Packard & Singapore Airlines branded HST Power Cars in the FGW fleet.

Quite a lot of liveries are applied as vinyls for example on TPE units they are plain underneath with the livery applied as a vinyl on the whole unit apparently it is longer lasting than a paint applied livery

Dilutes the brand identity and damages its image so they don't like to do it often or in quantity.

They never last long but the Nottingham Trams seem to have advertising livers quite a bit.
