Since there's been a recent thread discussing Virgin Trains rosters, I decided to ask my own questions in regards to Eurostar rosters. Being international drivers I imagine Eurostar has a bit of lodging in Paris/Brussels every now and then but that might not affect the roster of course.

According to the Video125 cab ride from Brussels to St. Pancras, SNCF crews are rostered in a way that they would be away for a little over 24 hours from their home depot. However in this case it was a Eurostar driver from Lille, so I don't know how much it really applies. Nevertheless, I imagine that Eurostar rosters may be particularly interesting...

From what I know, London drivers don't lodge away in Paris, except bizarrely lodge in London for early turns.
I saw their roster and it looked like a rolling 4 day week ie
Sun Mon Tue Rest Days one week
Mon Tue Wed next
Tue Wed Thu
Wed Thur Fri

etc etc

Only one lodge on that roster, which are turns 4141 (out) and 5142 (back).
There are two main 'links' at Eurostar. One does Paris and Disneyland Paris, and the other does Paris and Brussels (another rule book to learn for Belgium, so that's the senior one.

Lodging in a hotel in London - Eurostar offers a night in a hotel for starts before, I think it's 06:00, and 08:00 on Sundays and after 23:30. Something like that!
I think there may be an element of 'benefit in kind' tax to pay for this.

Thanks for that! I've never seen a railway roster until now, and that's pretty helpful in information as well. :D

No problem, someone posted it on another thread. They are very useful to get an idea aren't they?

Eurostar's roster is unusual in that Monday is the first column - all the other railway rosters from the UK I've seen start on a Sunday. It must be a French thing!

Eurostar also has Sundays in the working week - some TOCs have Sundays outside the working week so these days are in addition to the other 4 working days.

That was the first thing I had noticed actually! Was just about to post a reply to see how nice it was and it's a shame that other railway operators can't do the sensible thing and start their weeks on a Monday as well.

Sunday does seem like a special day to the railways, after all it's when the new timetables start and where the rosters begin. Despite that it also has it's own timetable for that particular day, and it's kind of treated like a rest day as well as the beginning of the week. Quite a mix up isn't it?
