It might just be a generic email to remind everyone you are not forgotten and this includes appentices so that's why they are asking for proof.
Not to rub it in but I start at Crewe Monday for shunt driver and haven't had to show certificates. I have a letter that asks for birth certificate N.I. number and proof of professional certificates but I doubt that means gcses.
When I emailed about being in the pool about 2 months ago I was told this is not a bad thing you just have to wait your turn.
Good Luck everyone and fingers crossed I don't screw this up lol

It's quite stressful reading about these holding pools at various locations, especially when so many people are that far down the line (pun intended). I've just started reading up on current Freightliner news such as the Mendip work and checking the information about depots, ports etc is correct. I have my interview in just 11 days now having been sat on my fingers since passing all required tests/interviews in early September - the waiting has made reading the thread difficult at times as many of you are progressing well, which I don't hold against anyone, but it doesn't make me feel too positive on my own prospects.

I am also worried what their faces may look like when I get to the answers about family/home-life setup and them making any judgements.

I spoke about my home setup, I thought it was important to stress that I’m used to railway shifts and what that entails, especially long term with family.

I spoke about home set up too, during conversation regarding choosing between IM & HH. It definitely helped with my understanding of what is involved.

This thread is becoming a bit surreal, but I'm enjoying it. Appropriate for Halloween, with Freightliner asking: "Trick or treat?". <D

One of the most viewed now.

Sorry if this is a silly question but what does IM & HH stand for?

So many acronyms to learn on here lol
Intermodal and Heavy Haul, the 2 sides of the Freightliner business.

I'm only close enough to Lawley Street which I listed on my application, so that is Intermodal only anyway. I guess all this time waiting I am just stressing and overthinking things a little.

I am used to shifts and the railway as are my family, as it's all we've ever known, I've been working on the railway since 1997.

IM Intermodal - mostly containers

HH Heavy Haul - lot of engineering work

The two different sides of Freightliner

I suppose the Rail - Bulk that we see on their website corresponds to the Heavy Haul.

Thank you all for clearing that up, I understand the difference now. I’m looking to relocate soon anyway so quite tempted to go for this myself with a view to go mainline in a fews years maybe

There no vacancy at present is there? You might have a long wait for something to pop up

IM = regular hours
HH = buckets of cash

Pick and choose
I'm more drawn to HH, I don't need regular hours, no kids, no demanding partner, I can do crazy shifts and even lodging away overnight if it's required. Money is nice, I must admit. Only a tiny obstacle on the tracks before getting to that: the interviews in three weeks :frown:

Nothing at all. Not even an automated email response from when I sent the qualifications they requested last week.

I have my stage 2 assessment coming up on Friday and was wondering if anybody had any hints for the MMI Interview?

I know there is generic questions that need answering before you go into the interview but was wondering does this need to detailed answers or just a brief answer so the interviewer can ask you to expand on your answers?

I have also already passed the tests that are set for that day with Arriva so was wondering if these have been passed already will it just be the MMI interview i will have to sit on the day?

Thanks in advance and well done to all that are awaiting postings etc. Hope everyone gets the news they want very soon.

If you’ve already sat the tests and passed to the standard freightliner want then chances are you may only need to do the MMI.

Although the MMI questions are well known on this forum your answers need to be quite detailed. They are there to examine your thought processes and how you deal with situations.

Im sure i passed with the enhanced pass mark so hopefully will only be the MMI.

Totally understand that it will need to be detailed once in the interview just wondered about the questions that need to be written out before you go in.

Am i right in saying that someone in the thread has posted a screen shot of the questions earlier in this post?

Thank you for the advice.
