I am about the book some train tickets and just want to know if 3% Cashback from Greater Angela using Quidco is reliable? I have heard that it is not reliable for both tracking and payouts? If this is true I would rather use TPE 1% cashback which is reliable.

Anyone any experiences of this recently please?

I stopped using them, most of the time it didn't track, but some have been confirmed (not yet paid) on appeal.

Also after purchasing tickets with them, they try to trick you into signing up for some offer.

The 3% Quidco cashback rate from Greater Anglia started in about November. I've had 9 transactions track since then. I don't remember any that have not tracked, but none of them have paid out yet. The site says that they take 8-12 weeks to pay out. I've had 23 Transpennine Express transactions. The ones up until October 2nd have paid out. The ones after that are still only tracking.

I had a load of transactions with East Midlands Trains which didn't pay out for a year. I contacted the Quidco support by the online chat, and they paid them out for me.

I keep a closer eye on Quidco cashback for hotel bookings, as they are higher value than my ones for train tickets. For Expedia bookings, they say that the payout is 13 weeks after the hotel stay. If I have transactions that haven't paid by then, then I contact the Quidco support, and they usually pay them.

I normally use Chrome with an advert blocker for day to day browsing. When I am going to use a cashback site, I switch to another browser, without an advert blocker. It means the cookie from Quidco/Topcashback won't clash with one from my earlier browsing. Advert blockers can also get in the way of the referral links.

Similarly when there is an extra bonus cashback, I make a note of the Quidco ID of the transaction that I used for it. Otherwise it can be hard to work out which order matches to a bonus transaction a few months down the line.

Cashback is never guaranteed

Ain't that the truth. I can attest some companies are on these cashback sites just to get sign ups and don't want to pay up!

In the last year, I've had ~180 transactions with Quidco and Topcashback. Two thirds of those have been paid out, the other third are "Tracked" but haven't been paid so far. Two transactions have been rejected when I know that they were for a valid purchase. I had another 5 of the £2.50 Quidco Bonus payments declined, but that when I wasn't keeping track of which transactions they were from. Some of those will have been from where I didn't actually complete a purchase.

I have made a 2-3 claims when a transaction was declined, but I supplied information about the purchase and they went through. A few others have tracked at the wrong amount.

I had a lot more failed tranactions when I was doing them from the same browser that I was using for my initial shopping around, and with an Ad blocker.

That's a lot of transactions!

I signed up with a stock trading company who were offering £178.50 cashback through TCB for opening an account and depositing £200. I did that, they they tried to get stroppy about approving the cashback. Next thing I know, they withdrew from TCB and tried to still get me to do business with them. That little act of stinginess ended up costing them a few thousand, at which point I decided to part ways with them. Muppets.

Currys PC World are the worst, in my experience. They haven't paid out on a single one of my entirely valid transactions :( Worse, they've recalled quite a lot of them well after the time they had cleared.

I have had trouble collecting tickets I have bought from Greater Anglia several hours after purchase (see my previous thread) although the cashback has always tracked quichly and becoke payable in my account a few weeks later. TPE's 1% is less attractive but the better option if you can't risk the tickets and/or cashback never appearing and prefer a less stressful option.

I've been using both Quidco and TopCashBack for Greater Anglia. I've been finding both track the purchases reliably, however Topcashback is much quicker at paying out, as in Quidco seems to take 3 or 4 times longer. The Quidco ones come through as a big batch, the Topcashback ones seem to be much more consistent in being able to be paid a few weeks after purchase.

You do need to allow an hour before you collect in my experience.
