Eventful day for 43002 resulting in alternator overheating and having to be shut down for at least the first hour of the final London to Plymouth non stop leg of the tour. Successfully fired up before Taunton for the last leg over the Devon banks but with 2 traction motors isolated - so the train was only on 1/2 power for about half the journey and 3/4 power for the remainder, but still managed the journey in just over 3 hours - a great achievement under the circumstances despite slowings en-route due to conflicting movements by other trains - and being looped through the platform lines at Totnes rather than the faster through lines. Final time was 3 hrs, 1 min and 4 seconds.
