Not sure if we've had this one before.

I'll start off with three very dfferent examples
Navigation Road (two single lines)
Carlton (Notts)
Chathill

Has anyone missed a train because of the barriers being down for an extended period?

Yes, there will be a lot. Missing the train at Chathill is more of a problem than maybe anywhere else!

Bromley Cross has a foot crossing only, controlled by the signaller, a problem when you had to get to the ticket office on the Bolton-bound platform but wanted to travel towards Blackburn as you had to cross the line twice.

Gobowen
Haydon Bridge
East Boldon (now only used by T&W Metro, but an NR crossing)

There are a few elsewhere on the T&W Metro:
Callerton Parkway

This was of course what lay behind the accident at Elsenham, on the Bishops Stortford-Cambridge line, where there was only a level crossing, all the village houses are on the Cambridge-bound side but all ticketing facilities were withdrawn there for economy, passengers travelling to Cambridge then had to cross the line twice, to the London-bound side to get a ticket, and then back to get their train, across a busy 2-track route. And also cross the road through traffic.

All (partly) sorted out after the event of course - but too late.

Every stations on the Marston Vale line, except the two Bedford stations, Bletchley and Fenny Stratford.

Just near me, there's a few I can think of from the top of my head:

Sherburn in Elmet
Poppleton
Cattal
Starbeck

Cononley - a Penalty Fare station with a ticket machine on one platform only. Do any of the others mentioned above have the same issue? Maybe the OP could also have asked "has anyone ever been unable to buy a ticket because of the barriers being down for an extended period?" As mentioned already, such a set up was a contributing factor in the Elsenham crossing accident.

------------

Isn't there a subway at Starbeck?
