42904 is now green and yellow, though isbyet to be Badgered. So that’s just 2 Barbie Darts 42909 and 42925 to be treated then the Weston Town Fleet will be completely Badgerline.

It was my first time in a bus up Rownham Hill (up to Leigh Woods) the other day, and I was surprised at just how slow it was. 33556 was doing just 6-10mph up some of the steepest bits. Is this normal, or likely a problem with the bus?

The 24 has been changed again! Serving less of Ashton Vale.
Looks like they are still working out what to do with Ashton Vale...
The published timetable booklet doesn't include the additional loop to Silbury Rd that was in the screenshot up the chain.
Tebsite news item says, "we are currently considering what further action can be taken to improve accessibility for local journeys around Ashton Vale".
The Traveline timetable that showed daytimes M-S extending to Silbury Rd has been replaced by a new timetable without it.
There was a recent VOSA amendment referencing the 24A.
Interesting times...

I think the 24A might just be the current route, but then streetlites would need to be kept and it would undermine the new 24 route! That railway bridge is very annoying!

Most likely the particular vehicle, some of the E400s are better than others. Some of them really do struggle with the hills now, likewise some struggle with speed even on the flat.

The X1x gives a chance to sample the hill climbing ability and speed of a vehicle, I was on one the other morning and on the M5 it managed 31 up to the split level section between Clevedon (J20) and Portishead (J21) on the flat section it just about managed 50. This was a 334** though I didn’t get the full Fleet Number. With the X1x having a longer period of non-stop motorway running, including hills some better E400s need to be found which can manage both the speed and hills.

Sadly, one of the better vehicles for this service which will do the speed and can cope with the hills, is being shipped off to Wells. 33666 or as it is known ‘The Devil Bus’.

Not very common seeing Streetdecks on the 172/3/4 but 35163 was on late Friday afternoon.
However it was being worked on by a Bath Engineering Support man when I saw it.

I can recall riding a Streetlite up that section a few years ago... Didn't think it was going to make it at one point!

It got taken off 376 earlier and replaced by 32009.
Both 32009 and 30877 on 172-4 today.

With a lot of service changes starting in a week's time involving conversions from single to double deck operation, would we not have expected some more deckers coming into FWE. Steve said 28 mid lifers were expected and only ten received from Bolton. Although a lot of these 28 will be needed for the 15 Sept changes.

Fair point but they might be able to utilise some of the Q busters early. Also, think Oldham have some further cuts so might be a case of more coming from there.

When the Q Buster finishes will these buses stay with Bristol.
It’s very difficult to second guess fleet changes with First. The deckerisation of the 24 and Bath 3/4 wasn’t being predicted!

As the three Scottish ones have been repainted and with purple fronts, looks like they may stay. However, it’s almost impossible to work out what will happen especially with the gas buses due at some point.

Of course, gaining so many vehicles means some must leave - StreetLites and e200s suggested as early disposals by First. What may leave post Xmas, who can tell?

In my opinion I doubt if anyone but management know the answer. However I believe 31143/6 32225 have been repainted which seems a bit over the top if they are only short-term as Q Busters. There are several younger buses that could do with a repaint out of Barbie.
