Train doesn't stop at the station it's ticketed from; validity?

If that doesn't make sense - this is the journey want to make;

TICKET day return Lostock > Blackpool > Lostock.

However the train I want to catch doesn't stop at Lostock, so rather than going back to Bolton I could get the bus to Horwich Parkway (next stop on) and catch the train from there. On return I would alight at Lostock and walk home as that does stop.

For those unfamiliar this is the route;
Bolton....(Lostock).....Horwich....then most stations on to Blackpool.

So, would my return ticket be valid, even though the train doesn't stop at Lostock outbound?

Break of Journey is allowed, so yes you can.
However, you cannot start your journey before 0900 SX, if that is an issue.

Thanks. the latter isn't an issue, but my worry was that the train itself didn't stop at the place I was supposed to get on.
However if anyone did break their journey @ Horwich, they won't know if the next train stopped previously at Lostock or not!

Yes. Return tickets where you start short on the outward portion are often the best value ticket for journeys of this type. I sell them regularly for customers.
