That's what I read on one of these forums a while ago. I thought it seemed odd, I assume that's wibble then! :D
Total wibble. The 23:05 forms the next days 05:14 IPS-LST. The 06:39 is formed by ECS from HPQ. 321s just run ECS from/to Colchester unless covering IC diagrams in full.

Indeed: 1Y75 (2305) forms 1Y01 (0514) 5P90 EX PQ forms 1P00 (0639) although sometimes comes from Norwich 5P00, and 2x321 5P23 Colchester to Norwich to form either 1P23 or sometimes 1P21

Units afaik as plenty of trained crew now. 170 covering one & 37s the other.
Is it just Norwich drivers trained on the 755 or has the training moved further afield to other depots yet?

Just Norwich for now. Other depots have only had partial classroom/sim training.
Lots of training to be done then. The Peterboro to Ipswich service won't be going 755 any time soon then.

Seems like the press launch should have been delayed until they had a at least half a dozen turning out reliably each day.

I don't think that went quite according to plan either. Will still be a while before you see any across the Bury except on test. Only Ipswich/Colchester sign that route.

Having finally got my hands on one of these for real they really are amazing.

For someone who has come from only ever having driven Sprinters and their ilk these are like the Enterprise. First time I've sat in surroundings that make me feel more like a pilot than a mere driver!

Is it possible we could be looking at service to London starting next Monday? Workings on the Norwich in 90 service are advertised as Second Class only from 23rd September:

321s have a first class area.
There are plenty of 321 available on a Saturday.
But if Greater Anglia/ Stadler are struggling to get more than three 755s out for the Wherry lines and the Norwich to Cambridge service - with a shortage of DMUs, it makes no sense to be sending 755s to London

Rather than a pair of 755's, might this diagram be using a Stansted 745 (Std. class only....)?

I hadn't thought of that, but I consider that even less likely. The 745s aren't due for service introduction yet, when they're going to be used in passenger service, surely they'd be using the stock appropriate to the route (which there are currently more units of available) rather than the StanEx units?

No first class advance fares are available for these services next week.

It gives them the flexibility to use the 755s even if it ends up being a hauled set.

745s not expected in traffic for at least another month. Not sure even whether 755s are passed to run in multiple in passenger service yet.

Genuine question to those on the job in Anglia, what is the reason for the glacially slow introduction into service of these units? Technical or sparing the staff for training?
