Hi there

I'm currently airline crew considering a move to the railway, in particular SWR .

Being airline crew, I get quite a few days off after a flight and have just gone part time so was wondering what a guard shift pattern could look like in terms of how many days on/rest days and if part time is ever offered somewhere down the line?

Many thanks

What Depot you looking to apply for? I have some knowledge on Guildford.

Generally don’t do more than 7 straight shifts at worst. Get several 3day weekends to compensate. Rough average of 1 in 3 Sunday’s

Could be wrong but I was under the impression SWR guards were on 41 hour week with Sundays inside - so the normal 3 week pattern mentioned above doesn't apply. It's one of the reasons why their headline basic salary is one of the highest around.
