Bimode: People love to hate the AT300’s but the Nova 1’s look excellent in the TPE livery!
Until recently I’ve seen 91119 at Leeds a countless number of times, 91110 looks great too. I’m quite biased towards the 91’s because they’re one of my favourites

And even your diesel and electric choices are pretty much multiple units!Steam: all ugly scrapheaps
Diesel: HST
Electric: IC225
DMU: 170
EMU: 323
Overall: IC225
Admittedly the multiple units are grasping at straws somewhat.
The 390 in original Virgin Trains livery with the stripy doors... cor, it just blows every other train ever built right out of the park.
Actually I think I do too to be honest. The carriages look really classy in white.I still prefer the modern silk livery with the black band between the windows
To add, the 91 should be in National Express livery. If only a full set was done up into that.

I liked the Virgin CrossCountry branded HSTs with yellow roof. Then again, it looked better with a black roof. The original 390 livery is better on the Pendolinos, but the original Virgin Red/Black was better still

When Virgin launched their CrossCountry operation, the HSTs had yellow roofs, XC under the Virgin logo and large cabside numbers. The launch power cars were 43063 and 43068.Don't remember any with a yellow roof?

Yes, although the coaches also had the XC logo. The yellow roof only extended over the cab area on power cars, above the warning panel in a similar way to the previous intercity livery. The powers though, not the whole set?

Haha, sorry I should have been more specific. That I do remember, at first I thought you meant the whole set had full yellow roofs - which I definitely didn't recall!

Anyone nominating the Class 91 has never seen one running blunt end first!

I think that one is just a worse version of intercity swallow in my opinion, although it's by no means bad.
I'll agree Swallow beats it, but Red/Black is the best of the liveries Virgin used.
The original VT livery applied to the legacy fleet was really eye-catching at the time, especially after years of blue/grey and then Intercity/'Swallow'...I'll agree Swallow beats it, but Red/Black is the best of the liveries Virgin used.
Nah, has to be the original silver with striped doors. Even made Mk3s look new.

But it hasn't aged well IMO, it reeks of the 1990s!
