Although the headcode being 0Z33 doesnt designate a class 33 working it just pure chance that it was on this occasion, headcodes never go by class of loconotive which works it

I'm sure that officially that's the case but I think we all know that there have been plenty of occasions where loco classes have been used as part of a headcode, especially on light engine workings. I've seem many 0*92, 0*90 and 0*66 workings (to name a few) that have been 92s, 90s and 66s respectively and on too many occasions for it to be pure chance. Signallers must either see it as an easy way of designating a headcode to STP workings or just an easy way of knowing what sort of loco it is

Just to avoid any future complaints from people who take this as read and are left disappointed when a future 0Z33 headcode turns out to be a FLR 66, that we've all seen a million times, it is not a written rule that such headcodes indicate the class of loco - it's just some occasions where signallers will use this, I assume to make things a bit easier to monitor. I've fell for it a few times myself, making special trips to check out 0*37 and 0*47 headcodes only to see a 66 trundle by :E

Pardon me saying, but that is a train service. The definition of the diagram would be the pre-planned scheduled work of the unit for the day.

Apologies for my poor use of terminology Philipe, it's been a long few days

Morning all, would anyone know if the 1A92 07.53 Beverley - King's Cross today is a 180 or an IET, and if so which one please? I might try for the return working off King's Cross at 11.48 if it's one I need for haulage...
