They could also be for the new service 42/42a from Coatbridge to Wishaw General via Holytown and New Stevenston commencing from 4 March which I believe is to replace the present tendered 42 service from Monklands Hospital to Calderbank and extending it from Coatbridge to Wishaw General Hospital and will be partially tendered

I do not know the deviation in route between the 42 and 42a
I think you would struggle to get an Evora around some of the streets of the 42 route as I heard even the short Enviros found it tight

It may also use the same route as the tendered evening and Sunday 211 service but extending from Coatbridge to Airdie and from Motherwell to Wishaw General

I know that the First Glasgow 242 operates between Holytown and Overtown it only operates near Wishaw General but does not enter the Hospital Grounds

Been a long time time since there was a weekday daytime link covering Calderbank to Holytown and good to see new links and journey opportunities provided by this improved service, hope it's a success
Is there any difference between the 42A (the Saturday timetable) and the 211 (Evenings and Sundays) or is SPT still up to their tricks of making it deliberately harder for less confident users to use the bus network?

The 211 tender is due for renewal in July but there is no guarantee that JMB will be awarded it or even apply for the tend. If they do they’ll probably request to change the route number to 42 or 42a, which would make sense as it would be merging two tenders into one.

I passed JMB's 2 new 24 plate Evoras today which when I passed them were on the 5. Looking smart but not sure about the black light clusters compared to the 22 plate examples which are painted to blend in with the livery.

First time I have noticed them this week so not sure if today was their first day out and if the 5 is their permanent route or not.

Buses registrations are, SJ24 HWA / SJ24 HWB

Edit: David Oakley has snapped a few pictures of them and uploaded to his Flickr,
