What's your latest acquisition?

Do any of you use Kingsway's OO buildings cardboard kits? I have bought a few, for my intended scene of 2 track railway, atop brick arches, through an urban scene.
Here's what arrived yesterday and it will go nicely with all my Metcalfe terraced houses and corner shop, which will follow the route of the railway arches. The railway line will cross the high street scene on a Wills plate girder bridge.
My other Kingsway purchases are shops, a pub and a bank. I will use one of their "free download" kits as an entrance to a covered market.

This Shark ballast spreader arrived in the post yesterday, a replacement for the one which was sent elsewhere in error by the eBay seller.

Some nice looking models - a lot of familiarity in those kits having grown up around S London.

Very nice - do you have a plan on an engineer's rake to go with the Shark?

I do- I'm slowly assembling a small rake of Seacow wagons... A very small rake, as my layout is going to be a branch line terminus on a windowsill!

Love layouts like that. Really challenges you to work with a small space to create something awesome. Looking forward to seeing what you'll do with it

I'm unfortunately moving at glacial pace... Suffering from the counterpart to "Fear Of Missing Out" which is "Fear Of Screwing Up"! :lol:

Aye, rather get it done right instead of ending up unhappy with what you've done. I've only just started putting hills on my layout and I've had the thing nearly a decade :lol:

Ah, I have the issue of needing to finish clearing our loft before starting which comes with "fear of chucking something away that my wife wants to keep"

So my latest acquisition isn't a 37...

...it is a pair of 37s!

I already have a Lima model in Mainline, but couldn't resist this Hornby double-header on the basis that one of the locos is "my machine", 37216. I now have two versions of this, the other in retro-green livery. I am starting to run out of space to display them all.

Very nice- I remember that pair and a similar EWS pair being released by Hornby, and wanting them so that I could do double-headers on my layout at the time.

Meanwhile, I've just taken delivery of some fencing to improve the Health & Safety situation at the rear of Fort George station. It will be spray-painted green. And also I've picked up a second-hand MetCam Mk1 Pullman carriage from Rails of Sheffield. This can be used to form part of a dining train if used on a heritage style train, or alternatively as this example is still used by West Coast Railways, it can feature on visiting railtours. It helps break-up the colour difference between Accurascale and Bachmann's WCRC maroon somewhat when in the rake. I'm also impressed by the quality and detail on this carriage as they aren't recent models.

Seconded.
I have some blue-grey examples (two of the standard release FO, the Bar Car (to be rebranded as Hadrian Bar) and the twin pack FO released through ModelZone. The coaches are ideal to represent 1970s-1980s SLOA specials.

Most recent arrival was a speculative eBay purchase.
A Bachmann 4CEP in rebuilt form in South West Trains livery. Had been converted from an original CEP and repainted / heavily weathered by Emperors Path (see YouTube & Instagram)
I was the only bidder and got it for just over £200 DCC fitted.
Very much looks the part. Running is a bit jerky, but will give it a service to see if it helps. Worst comes to the worst, I’ve got various spares kicking about for these anyway (motors, gearboxes etc)

A typical, early 2000’s South London scene!

I'm guessing MJT brass sides onto the Bachy model? It has been done really well; it takes me back to seeing them climb Grosvenor Bank out of Victoria.

Mind you, I can also remember refurb'd CEP and BEP units in NSE, L&SE "Jaffa" and blue grey.

Speculative eBay wins are some of the most satisfying, in my view. But my favourites were ones I used to read about on a Saab owners' forum, years ago. Their posts usually started: "...So, I got drunk last night - and today I've discovered I won a Saab I don't need and it's nowhere near my home town".

unsure exactly what the make up is, but it’s brass sides from someone, so you’re probably correct.

Do my best to steer well clear of eBay when I’ve had a few sherbets!

Well it has been a while since I last bought an item of coaching stock. I'm conscious that the KWVR does use a BG on things like the Santa Specials and some of the dining services, so I thought I'd better get hold of one. This Replica Railways model arrived today:

Looks good. Are Replicas the ex-mainline tooling? Those were always impressive.

Replica's BG, FO and BCK were their own tooling. The RB(R) was carried over from Mainline. Replica also did the cl 419 MLV.
Bodyshells are still available from Replica.

Ahh, makes sense. Must tive them a try then, picked up a mainline RB for a tenner last year and was dead impressed.

I remember Mainline releasing the RB(R). I bought a blue grey one - it looked so much better than my Lima Mk1s.
4 years ago, I picked up a Replica RB in maroon, for six whole pounds. Still a good model.

My haul from Key Modelworld Live

An Oxford Rail Adams Radial, in need of a bit of a service from Sawyer Models,

a Hornby Blackmoor Vale from Clark Railworks* literally must have been from right before DCC arrived.

A couple of Bachmann mk1 coaches in B/G From someone or other, didn't catch the name of the trader, unfortunately.

A 5th Bulleid for the Bachmann rake. Just one more to go.

Some DCC bits and pieces from DCC Concepts

The Replica ones are AFAIK the same as Mainline would have released had Palitoy not gone bust. Nice coaches though. I've got one that goes in my Airfix mk2d rake but I do think Replica could benefit from updating the couplings. At present they're moulded on but screw fitting might up the price a bit.

Rapido's dia 801 Blue Spot vans are lovely looking models.
Too "recent" for me; however, I have one of Rapido's - yet to be shipped - GNR dia 113 vans, insulated variant, on order.

I continue on a van theme currently - I picked up a couple of venerable Ratio 591/5091 kits this past week to join one I already have. The transfers from Railtec (along with a 4MT renumbering scheme) are en route.

I have fiddled this evening with the oldest and will post in workbench thread....
