  • Hiya! Massive congrats on doing so well on your rules, that's amazing. Trying to work out how to send you a link for my Facebook, can't do it so have given up!!
It's Marc Jarvis and my profile pic is my daughter wearing a fake moustache- come find me!!

    See you soon.
oooh I loved my front end turns.. didn't want to go back to the classroom!! wanted to be a YTS and hide out in the cabs hahhahahha... I am in the classroom between the receptionists desk and the admin offices...think its 9? or 8? hahhaha.. who knows??? might look tomorrow.
Umm, room T10 I think. It's round by the tea point. How about you, which room are you in?
I know how you feel about getting out there- got my front end turns thurs and fri- can't wait!! Glad you're getting on ok. Have a nice weekend and I'll hopefully find you next week!
i am ok.... yes I am trying to keep up too!! still enjoying it, looking fwd to getting out of the classroom and onto the tracks in jan tho. Which classroom are you in?
You may well have done, I didn't see you or I'd have said hi! Having a great time, just trying to keep up with the paperwork! I've got a lot to learn but am really enjoying it.
    How are you getting on?
hi... did I see you having your pic taken??? wasn't sure if it was you or not... hope you had a good week.
Well done on the PTS. Cab experience, wicked!! Am starting on 30th Nov, so imagine I'll be in Basingstoke sometime that week.
hi marc.. when are you in bstoke? yes, come and say hi.. I passed PTS on Friday and am going on cab experience next week .. whooo hooo
That all sounds amazing. I'll be sure to bring my wheelbarrow! I'll come and say hi when I get there- only 5 weeks to go...
hi marc.. that's FANTASTIC news!! First week was fab.. first day form filling and trugging off to Waterloo for uniform, second day training at Basingstoke station - that was good. Third day ( half day ) signing paperwork and finding out about the NVQ. Thurs and Fri start of training and issuing of more stuff. Please bring a small wheelbarrow as you will need it!!!! :) Loving it, hoping to see you soon as all the trainees are on floor 1 so will come say hi when you arrive. Great news tho. :)
How was your first week? Just had every thing confirmed and received my contract today- looks like it's happening!!
Thanks Alison. I'm sure it'll be fine, it's just going to cost me a few hundred £'s to find out!
Just over a week to go- you must be chomping at the bit!! No doubt I'll see you at some point - good luck and try and keep in touch, in amongst all the learning!
oh I am so sorry.. but I know someone else that happened to.. luckily ( if that's the right word ) I have needed many ECG's in the last 5 years due to an operation and I knew my ECG was ok now...was half expecting to have to ask my doc to send the recent ones as proof but mine came out ok :) sorry to hear about yours... not good when you have handed in your notice. Hope all ok and hope to see you very soon which I feel wont be long. Al
I did that too, have since had to amend my finish date! The ECG in the medical has indicated an 'abnormal result', which I'm pretty certain is nothing- these tests are renowned for being innaccurate. It's made things complicated as I now have to get another test done, which is easier said than done, hence the delay.
The first 3 days sound great! I didn't realise about the NVQ, how exciting!!
how come you are not joining on 19th? I must say I took a leap of faith and handed in my notice before the medical ( brave or daft, one or the other!)... all I know is that on the first three days I will be at Southampton station, then Basingstoke Station and then Basingstoke training centre.. don't know any further than that at the mo. Apparently you get an NVQ in rail.. so exciting.. I usually work towards Masters qualifications.. this will be interesting!! hahhahahhaha..
That's brilliant news, am really pleased for you. Yes, I'm pretty gutted too. There is still a very slim chance that I'll make it but is looking less and less likely. I'm sure well meet again at some point!
Have you been given any idea of how the initial twelve weeks is structured, training wise? How much classroom based etc?
hi Marc, contract received. ready to go.. tres excited! :) Sorry to hear you might not be joining me in Oct :( I am sure our paths will cross at some point.
Ah, Hi Alison! Sorry, I've confused you with the guy who was also with us on the assessment day- I saw him again briefly on the morning of my second interview, wonder if he (can't remember his name!?) made it too?
You could always ring recruitment and ask them the date, I've spoken with Emma slot recently and she's really helpful.
Salisbury :) I am hoping for 19th - havnt had any details thru yet tho. Contract is on its way.. I need to know the training schedule but don't like to sound impatient :) I'm Alison by the way :)
Yes, I thought so- saw you again briefly on the morning of my second interview. Really pleased for you too, you must be really chuffed!!
Am due to start in the 19th also but I may have to delay it, apparently there is another course about 5 weeks after.
What depot did you get in the end, am I right in thinking you were going for Guildford?
    Hi.

Trainne drivers are already nearing the end of the process, just the last 15 applicants waiting to hear if they have got a job. So prob be end of the year before the next lot of heavy haul jobs come up. Keep a look out for intermodal side tho too.
