its been years since i was over on the island . the last time i was over there the 38's were brand new(?) and the standard stock still was much in abundance. i liked the 56's cos i feel they were the aluminium version of the steel bodied 38's. the 59/62 were the poor relation to them...
i dont know if anyone is interested but i believe that the 83's have left the rails forever and the ony ones i know of now are the ones on top of a building in east london and the one in the lt museum. they were the tube stock version of the D stock in every way.

the slugs were supposed to be the fore runners of the aborted class 38, and, were prototypes with a few having mirlees engines and others had ruston's.
yes i did and it wont work.
