Why have Great Western got no Advance tickets for Bank Holiday Monday?

Don't think there's be many going early doors to Wales. Shows that there isn't general demand for out of London services first thing Bank Holiday Monday. Still can't see the 06.45 Paddington-Swansea being busy. It goes via Bristol Parkway.

Why have Great Western got no Advance tickets for Bank Holiday Monday?

I might be going to Chepstow and there's no advance tickets from Paddington at all, not even on the first train on the way out, this can't be demand, there's still plenty if I go via Birmingham. Anyone any idea why?

Trainline- journey to printer paid for but required to buy a separate ticket

It is if you're ordered the ticket but can't collect it at the station the journey starts from.

    Someone used my details!

Don't they have to supply any evidence they want to use in court to the defendant first?

    Someone used my details!

But by doing that they'd be admitting reasonable doubt and might as well abandon the whole process at that point.

    Someone used my details!

There may be a totally innocent explanation but for the TOC to make incorrect assertions tends to fuel that cynicism.

    Someone used my details!

The OP is suspicious as he has already been lied to once concerning the electoral roll. He could be just giving them the details they'd need to prosecute him, height appearance etc, which would then magically match what they have for the offender.

    TransPennine Problem Last Night (19/12/15)

No, getting fined two weeks wages for, say, a training ground incident.

    TransPennine Problem Last Night (19/12/15)

Depends on the circumstances, surely. Football players get it all the time.

    Court Summons

If you haven't got a ticket it's an offence. It doesn't matter even if you can prove you bought a ticket, even if you've got the credit card receipt, even if you have the return half of a day return, if you haven't actually got a ticket you've committed an offence. Because you didn't jump...

Under caution with a valid ticket

I think what this hinges on is did you show the inspector the out of date ticket first?

Rochford to London via Southend issues with c2c and PF

Yet this is exactly what that person through lack of competence in their job could do to many innocent passengers.

My bad experience travelling on FGW from Clifton (26/09): Total and utter debacle.

We're not talking about lots of extra trains, just one extra or one longer train would have done. From just one of the depots in the area.

My bad experience travelling on FGW from Clifton (26/09): Total and utter debacle.

Think 1964 is the end of Christmas day trains, the end of Boxing day services was much later. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- The point is that this incident occurred because the existing capacity wasn't used for want of extra staff and the odd extra or longer train. --- old...

My bad experience travelling on FGW from Clifton (26/09): Total and utter debacle.

But not because they haven't got enough staff to staff the capacity they do have.

My bad experience travelling on FGW from Clifton (26/09): Total and utter debacle.

So you're trying to tell me that in the Bristol/Cardiff area there's no peak stock that's unused at weekends? Like I said earlier, do you think a football club begs the local pubs to staff up for a big cup tie? --- old post above --- --- new post below --- My point is that the shortage...

My bad experience travelling on FGW from Clifton (26/09): Total and utter debacle.

Only to today's modern, customer indifferent railway. Most other industries would not see those as bizarrely insurmountable obstacles. And even then, it's just an example of spare unused peak weekday stock, there must be others in the Bristol/Cardiff areas. --- old post above --- --- new post...

My bad experience travelling on FGW from Clifton (26/09): Total and utter debacle.

I'd like to think there was a bit more central control than that and it wasn't left up to the driver; I doubt that's how TfL try and prevent possibly trains stopping between stations.

My bad experience travelling on FGW from Clifton (26/09): Total and utter debacle.

But there's plenty of spare stock off peak in other places that could be moved over the network (clue's in the name). They start filling the engine sheds at Clapham Junction while I'm still on my way to work. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- How many 12 car units are used on the...

My bad experience travelling on FGW from Clifton (26/09): Total and utter debacle.

But outside the weekday rush there will be spare stock and staff. Just not the desire from the railway company to use them to serve the people who've paid for the stock and track capacity. --- old post above --- --- new post below --- They had planned enough to lay on extra buses. Do you...
