    Skipton Driver Depot -Northern

Best bet is to apply for qualified driver at Leeds then put a transfer to Skipton in. A few are leaving Skipton shortly plus they need more for the supernumerary link too. Might be best to apply directly for Skipton and see what they say.

    LNER Trainee Driver Jobs (18/03/2020)

Nothing is bad about LNER but to call them the Premier TOC is an insult to the rest of the rail industry. Every TOC's employees have the same skill set, no matter what grade you are. The only difference driver wise is that LNER get paid more, a factor in this is your terms and conditions which...

Trainee Train Driver - Virgin Trains East Coast

The whole VTEC recruitment process has been an absolute joke for qualified drivers and externals. It would have been nice for VTEC to mention that if you're a qualified driver and you have had an incident (no matter how minor) then we'll still waste 6 months of your life trying to apply. So you...

Trainee Train Driver - Virgin Trains East Coast

Wonder if it's worth asking for front ending authority, by the time you finish you'll know London York inside out

Trainee Train Driver - Virgin Trains East Coast

I m not going to beat around the bush here guys but (shock, horror) I applied. Got past the assessment stage, and was asked to fill in the transfer of safety information form. I had an incident , Bingley train crash 2013, so had to put it on the form. I received the certificate of commendation...

Any Northern Darlington drivers on here?

Harrogate will need more drivers but unfortunately they will be sourced from Arriva Rail North Leeds drivers I'm afraid, it's a tough depot to get into

Trainee Train Driver - Virgin Trains East Coast

I probably think that chuggington hasn't heard anything. The reason I say this is because last week I pulled into Knaresboro station and there were a group of people in Virgin uniform on the platform who were observing my shunt move over the viaduct. After speaking to them on the platform they...

Any Northern Darlington drivers on here?

Harrogate is a satellite depot of Leeds and as correctly stated they only drive Leeds York via Harrogate. A very desirable place to be due to route and shift patterns and the Harrogate way of life. However if the odd vacancy does arise once a blue moon this is offered to the senior link 1 driver...

Trainee Train Driver - Virgin Trains East Coast

Excellent post, only time will tell as to whether these 'tree hugging' sessions will actually work or not. I don't know of any other TOC that uses these methods. Normally it's a driver manager interview where you have to give examples of dealing with emergencies, times you have done shift work...
