Edinburgh bus station under threat as owners plan to end lease with council

I have found it, there were plans to move that bus station 20 years ago. https://www.scotsman.com/news/city-changes-gear-over-bus-station-2465921

Edinburgh bus station under threat as owners plan to end lease with council

Most likely we'll end up back in St Andrew Square like during 2000-2002 period. However it's not the world's best bus station and the traffic delays trying to get in and out are a disgrace which the council does absolutely nothing to sort out. Weren't there plans to move the bus station closer...

The New double decker coaches are going on the Glasgow routes. I think, what your saying is the company has enough drivers to operate the current lower services levels, however some routes are overcrowded and need more journeys. It does look like the Perth depot will free up drivers when it...

I believe the reason no bus stops are on Ferrymuir road is because it belongs to Transport Scotland and not the council as part of the major redevelopments of the area a while back.

Ive just remember the Tay Road bridge aswell if decker coaches were to appear on the X54 so they would get a double whammy.

I'm more confused as you're the one who asked the questions: My response is this It's weather related: At present there is a driver shortage so the company has brought some decker coaches to help combat with the demand on the Glasgow route. However if they get used on the Edinburgh routes (...

The main reason is the Forth Road bridge; if they use the deckers and it's a bad day they would have to skip 2 bus stops. If we went back to 2019 timetables with the X54 and X59 being flyers there would be no issues.

Edinburgh Tour Operators: Bright Bus, Lothian (Majestic, Three Bridges) etc.

Or maybe Lothian don't have the drivers to cover this operation.

    McGill's Buses - Renfrewshire & Inverclyde

Its not unique abut its extremely rare, West Dunbartonshire council once paid for a Direct bus from Clydebank to the new hospital. QE1?

Did you notice that No57 getting extra runs to Perth on a Saturday? Meaning it will be every 30mins instead of hourly. Yet other areas area getting cuts, it does look like parts of Perthshire haven't recovered. Also Broxden now down to every 30mins, that's been changed aswell from the...

It looks to me Stagecoach are still talking with Perth and Kinross council. This new proposed" timetable seem to be missing at least, the first journey toward Dundee IE current X16, one round trip on evening service and the full Sunday service. Are stagecoach trying to get P&K council to...

Standing passengers on registered express services

It depends on the depot, it's not company policy nor east Scotland policy. Your find it more with Aberhill drivers. D/line drivers do it all the time especial on 747 and X51 both of which actually operate on motorways. If the Ferrytoll inspector comes out he tends to over rule the drivers on...
