Caught up in this today at Preston since 1041. Train staff said that they tried to move the train under it's own power, but then had fitters out. Either way, seemed catastrophic as it took near five hours to rescue it.

Neither would the tram only run from PGS - it is proposed to run from Central, which the 500 passes on the way out of the city. I too found the 500 to be pretty brilliant when I've used it.
