    another 377 breaks down

I accept that theyre not the only trains to break down, but they are reasonably new trains and are always causing havoc on the thameslink route. Please see any thameslink live departure board right now, all completely screwed, really not looking forward to tonights commute :(

    Go jenson!!!

Yeah, I used to work with a guy who did that, I am completely ruined after 1 lap let alone a full 24hr. Absolutely crazy stuff I almost think that they over-engineered that track now, I've driven it so much, I've run it on the PS3 so much, it's actually getting tedious! :o In terms of F1...

    Go jenson!!!

they're trying with KERS and DRS and tyres, but ultimately, Vettel has the best car and he is the best driver.

    And the Thameslink winner is...

Then you expect wrong my friend. Ask them where they pay their taxes and where their European base is. Siemens provide just as many jobs in the UK as Bombardier, although, with their various divisions, I would go as far to say that they actually employ MORE people than Bombardier, directly...

Welsh Language Act on Cambrian crossings

I disagree with this point. However, it is a point that may provoke certain "unwelcome" nationalistic responses, which personally to me, are fair game. I do not think that minority languages should be preserved in a country where it isn't the national language. Preserve it in your own country...

    another 377 breaks down

I've lived in st albans for 5 months, every time that I can remember a train breaking down, it's been a 377, with power issues. Maybe due to the power switching that other 377's are not affected?

    HS2 - register your support.

A lot of it is tit-for-tat though, the plethora of emotive and petty arguments against HS2 in turn provoke emotive and petty responses. Whilst I don't think HS2 is ideal (needs to be 4 track to Brum + 2 track to HS1 + stations at Amersham + Banbury), it will go a long way to actually...

Do Germans make the best products?

Please back up your claim with irrefutable non-subjective evidence!!!! Also, can you please back up your claim about Sonor with irrefutable non-subjective evidence? If you've never owned one of their kits, how would you know? I've OWNED premier signias, pearl masters, tama...

Do Germans make the best products?

Yeah, I just find German seats too low and the backs poorly angled. I can travel for 2 hours on a TGV without problems, ICE and S-Bahn no chance. When will trains start offering lumbar supports? --- old post above --- --- new post below --- It's Franziskaner Naturtrueb Weissen or...

Do Germans make the best products?

exactly this, people say it because it's true! In response to TGV, how many countries have ordered the Siemens Velaro? In terms of technical capabilities, German trains cannot be beaten. I cannot stand their seating height and pitch (I cannot travel for more than 1 hour in Germany) but perhaps...

Welsh Language Act on Cambrian crossings

Ultimately though, she is in Wales, not England. Yes she is being stubborn but realistically, Welsh is a language in it's own right, it is the national language of Wales. There isn't such a propensity of Welsh speakers thanks to the wonderful English who have attempted to almost eradicate the...

    A heatwave looming?

I prefer it cold as I am usually far too hot internally. Air con systems are never consistent in this country, so I prefer cold weather, then people can just put the heating on. Maybe due to being born in the winter after the hottest summer ever? I dunno, heat is fine without humidity, in this...

    Arwyn Thomas Wins Tribunal

the truth is that we don't fully know the circumstances behind this, but I don't think it's surprising that now we have a conservative government again, strike action has exploded. I don't see that as a coincidence and I deplore the power they have to bring the country to its knees just...

    DB running on HS1

ace, that'll shut them frenchists up. Are we now beginning to see the full takeover of the Germans? The best trains are clearly Siemens, DB own most of UK Freight and Passenger operations, the best Cars are German, the best beer is German and the best Drums are German. I wonder how our...
