What would the Easy/Norweigan combo been if you had booked each airlines legs as separate return legs on their respective websites though? The high "low cost" price could just be because of their individual legs are selling well so are high priced now.

Virgin are better than BA but from the Birmingham area for long haul it is usually cheaper and better all round experience to go via a European hub, on Air France, KLM or Lufthansa.
