    Collecting tickets with no TVM

Thanks to all, it was of course a Voyager from Crewe. Coach K was the carriage with the shop in it. I only noticed this time that the carriage letters are not fixed, sign said see electronic display or words to that effect. Good journey overall except the ticket gates on the underground...

Thanks but a bit confused here. It a standard class ticket so that would point to a Voyager 221/222?

    Collecting tickets with no TVM

Well I managed to collect my tickets from the booking office at Liverpool Lime Street today as planned. According to the reservation coupon Its a London Midland service out of Liverpool, Which I guess will actually be a LNW 350. On the second leg from Crewe 1356 (Virgin) I have been allocated...

    Collecting tickets with no TVM

Thanks Yorkie and AndrewNTH. It is an advance fare and was circa £30 cheaper then others. Even splitting didn't beat it this time. Not a problem as I have some free time tomorrow and a CDR New Brighton to Liverpool Stations is only £2.70 with my Disabled persons railcard discount, so will pop...

Hi, Going from New Brighton (NBN) to Brighton (BRN) in the next few days. I know quickest and probably cheapest is via Liverpool and Crewe but am in no rush and wanted to try and ride a Northern 319 and possibly a Pacer, (yes I know ;) ). Any sensible way of doing this on the way down to...

    Lights going out momentarily

Hi, Wasn't sure where to post this one but here goes. Was on a 508 into Chester yestarday and as we were going over Chester North Junction, as well as the usual squeeling from underneath the unit the lights went on and off a few times. I assumed the unit lost contact with the third rail ...

    Questions near London Bridge

Thanks. Regarding the ‘LB’ prefix, I was mistaken, sorry. Was probably half asleep as it had been a very long day! I remember now it was indeed ‘TL’. Thanks for pointing out it stands for Three Bridges ROC.

    Questions near London Bridge

Hi, On signals in the London Bridge area, I noticed on Tuesday that the prefixes are ‘LB’ obviously London Bridge, but I’m sure I remembered previously they were a single ‘L’. Did I misremember? Also on one of them I noticed a white triangle. What does this mean please? Thanks!

    Southeastern Graffiti

There was a programme on TV years ago. I don’t remember all the details but I seem to remember BTP photographed tags and compared them. Ended up busting the people responsible. Think it was the tube in London, not just criminal damage to the trains but trespassing on the railway as well.

Passengers stuck on trains overnight in New Forest (01/03 - 02/03)

Now that is naughty in my honest opinion. Not casting aspersions but stands to reason they were trying to cover something up.

Unfortunately some people will always find someone else to blame, but then, that’s life!

    Trains in the cold weather

OK, I was only going by what I read on National Rail Enquiries. I’m up in Inverness so no personal experience of matters further south. To quote National Rail about the 700s Source: http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/today.aspx

    Trains in the cold weather

Hi, With the current temperatures across the UK, I wondered if some types of trains are better then others when dealing with low temperatures ? I appciate the infrastructure cannot always cope, impassable lines, downed wires, frozen points ect but what of the trains? Southern were saying...
