    Train bashing in Brussels advice

I used the beluxtrains.net site mentioned above when I was in Belgium a few years ago, which I found was very helpful. I also used an Android app called HyperRail - Belgian trains, which has live departures for any station, and also gives the formation of the train, which was great as I was...

    Gaelan's train checker

I used to love Tiger but it doesn't show my local stations anymore. An alternative I found was quite good but doesn't show any replacement buses. I've been having a play with this and, so far, it seems quite good. Thanks.

Websites which list all booked departures from a station

When in Belgium I've used http://www.belgianrail.be/jp/nmbs-realtime/query.exe/en?HWAI=VIEW!view=realtimeinfo which, when used with http://beluxtrains.net/indexen.php?page=searchstation shows what type of train should be working it.

    List of overnight European trains

I don't know if this will be of interest but there is https://rail.cc/night-train which seems to have mainly sleeper trains.

    ? UK-FERTIS .. 70 0659 003-1

According to Wikipedia, The loco was B.R. loco 56117 now owned by Floyd. Trivia: Splitting big stations in to separately named bits

With Platforms 6 & 7 at Nuneaton only used by CrossCountry on the (former Midland Railway) Birmingham - Leicester line , they could be Nuneaton Midland and Platforms 1 - 5 could revert to Nuneaton Trent Valley.

    Different announcements at Nuneaton

This is why the announcement @ Nuneaton mentions pushchairs ... Thankfully it only contained shopping and not a child. Sean.

Train planning: who decides platform allocations?

Depends on who's in charge of the PIS at that individual station. On Realtimetrains for Nuneaton, 1143 is the only Birmingham booked in platform 7 and 1852 Stansted is the only Leicester bound train booked in platform 6. Some may think that 1143 overtakes a freight, or 1852 uses 6 for a freight...

What’s the the weirdest, niftiest and cutest train journey you’ve ridden on

The weirdest service that I can remember was an Intercity service that ran Manchester Picc to Birmingham which then formed a BHM to Leeds service. Two separate services but was advertised at one point as a MAN-LDS via BHM service. (Wish i'd got a window sticker now). On one occasion it was...
