That will not affect your medical as long as you can move freely on them. It's on a case by case basis stuff like that, though I'd say you'd be fine.

Been speaking to a few people I know in the industry. If it's a TOC, full psychometrics required. If it would of been an external company or non-TOC so to speak, not necessarily required as they can dictate what they want. A TOC probably want you fully psychometric tested in case you need to...

Funnily enough on another forum somebody asked the same question, nobody was perfectly sure as to whether a depot driver/shunter driver required exactly the same requirements as a mainline driver, medical included as it was depot working only, working to local instructions - Not mainline at all...

To be fair which folks will find surprising - I used to know an electrical engineer who was obviously safety critical, who couldn't pass the ishara test but could pass the lantern test. They passed every medical. Company discretion.

Yes unfortunately if the ishara test is failed you you absolutely fail the medical. Apologies in advance

I agree. It is a great document. As I say, most employers are happy if you're able to pass a safety critical medical and they leave it at that. :)

Yes they are paragraphs. Every question is different too. Questions not necessarily railway related, if at all.

I largely agree but if surgery was done while in a non safety critical role the cost would be minimal compared to safety critical. Still a small cost but not as much. Also LASIK recovers after 1-3 days. On the other hand LASEK can take up to 3 months, so there is that. Different procedure and...

The TOCs in the other thread listed have been known to just have the person pass the safety critical medical and they're happy with that.
