Interail 4 days within 1 month Global Pass (1st Class)

If it's similar to the LNER method it is really simple. I've recently booked the 7.15ish train Wakefield to King's Cross - 23/5 Just needed the interrail number.

Transpennine Route Upgrade and Electrification updates

And we'll say, "I remember when all this was just grim, desolate, industrial wasteland. That were afore t'railway spoiled it with its modern fields and its up to date grassy banks"

Many apologies. I was confusing advance singles (and we would have needed two of those) with off peak returns.

Introducing RailUK Tickets - support the forum when booking your rail tickets!

Yes, that is what it came up with today. And we paid it. But HUD>MCV and MCV>DWN off peak returns would have been better.

Tried to use it today, HUD to DWN. It split the journey at Bromley Cross rather than MCV. Rubbish.

    Special Offers Discussion

It didn't have the restriction last time, or if it did, it didn't work. We did 6 trips, leaving another 4 unused at lockdown. All booked on one account. Hey-hum.

    Special Offers Discussion

TPE sale has allowed me to purchase tickets for one trip (HUD>LIVret 2 adults) and now says I can't buy anymore with this offer. If this is the same for all, make sure you buy your 1st preference.

And no "through" advances. So for eg. LDS to EDB will need 2 tickets, LDS to NCL, and NCL to EDB, to be booked separately. If you can do it, 2 quid each way would still be a phenomenal bargain.

Transpennine £1 sale on the way. Similar to the one that was truncated by the 1st Covid lockdown.

    New Bradford to Huddersfield route

£15,000 is the guide price. It could go for a lot more.

£48m boost for Penistone line service doubling and capacity increases

Why not an extra semi-fast, calling Huddersfield-Penistone-Barnsley-Meadohall-Sheffield only. This wouldn't reduce or increase service to the shacks, but one train per hour at Lockwood, Berry Brow et al, is enough. I'd go as far as to say more than enough. A sub hour, end to end, journey should...

Driver ‘allegedly’ refused to leave as too many passengers on board

When England were playing their football at Old Trafford, I was on a train(142) from Man. Vic. to Eccles. It was so full the driver could not gain access to the cab. Cue announcement that the train is "cancelled due to overcrowding". Many people disembark. Driver gains access. Service...

Controversial railway opinions (without a firm foundation in logic..)

Closing them wasn't always the mistake, making them impossible to re-open was.

What mode will Crossrail 2 be?

Logically it would be the CrissCrossline

    Levenshulme/Burnage.

Thanks for the advice all. After reading another thread we ended up adding a £3.20 Plus-Bus to our tickets.

I will thank you. I just didn't want to if I didn't need to.

    Levenshulme/Burnage.

Friday 23rd. We were thinking Huddersfield to Piccadilly to Levenshulme. Walk, via hostelries, to Burnage. Then Burnage > MAN > HUD for the return.

    Northern and TransPennine Express future

I'm pretty sure that the individual carriage numbers, within the sets, are finished 1,2 and 4. Big indicator that "3" is the missing center car.

    Levenshulme/Burnage.

I have an off-peak return from Huddersfield to Burnage. On the outward journey would I be allowed to take the train to Levenshulme and walk to Burnage from there? The price to both stations is the same.
