    Ticket only offered by Trainsplit

Searching for Advances from Preston to Settle via Carlisle, Ticketsplit offers a Virgin + connections ticket on September 12 leaving Preston at 11:53 and Carlisle at 13:40. I haven't been able to find the same ticket on NRE, Virgin, TPE mixing desk or Loco2 (choosing "find slower/cheaper"...

    Ticket check at Ormskirk station

Now I come to think about it, having passed the woman at the platform entrance at Ormskirk I vaguely noticed someone with a ticket machine on the platform who I thought might be the conductor (the train was in and Ormskirk is a Merseyrail terminus).

    Ticket check at Ormskirk station

    In case anyone's wondering if I'm researching a fare-dodging strategy I should mention that I have a 60+ pass!

    Ticket check at Ormskirk station

Would revenue staff have distinctive uniform? The woman at the platform entrance appeared to have normal Merseyrail uniform.

    Ticket check at Ormskirk station

Paid my first ever visit to Ormskirk by Merseyrail a couple of days ago and was surprised to have my ticket checked on entrance to the platform as I can't remember the last time I've encountered a ticket check at a non-barriered Merseyrail station. Could this be anything to do with the station...

That's why I asked about automatic Delay Repay.

Northern flash sale- 10p advance tickets

Does Northern's automatic Delay Repay system offer the option of free tickets? I've bought more 10p tickets than I'm going to use so some of them generating free tickets would be handy!

Northern flash sale- 10p advance tickets

Still LIV -> NLW 10p tickets available!

Northern flash sale- 10p advance tickets

Are Northern likely to enforce the rule against travelling short on these tickets?

Northern flash sale- 10p advance tickets

I've got 10p tickets for two connecting journeys LIV -> NLW and ERL -> LDS (on CTR -> LDS route). If I change at ERL I'll be ending short on the first ticket. I don't imagine it'll be a problem but if it is would there be any penalty beyond having to pay full fare LIV -> ERL?

    Disabled Railcard question

If a Disabled Railcard holder is travelling from A -> C and is joined by a friend at B, can the friend travel from B -> C on a discounted B - > C ticket? T&Cs say "The accompanying adult must travel with you throughout the journey" but does that simply mean that the friend can't travel without...

Merseyside day ticket options (including Merseyrail & ferry)

Is that because you regard Woodside-Seacombe as not doing the cruise so ok on Saveaway/pass? I asked at Pier Head and was told that you have to get off at the opposite side of the river, and if I remember correctly (it's quite possible that I don't) the boarding passes say "cross-river".

Possible confusion between Merseyrail Day Saver and Saveaway?

Though the route maps now show "Merseyrail Northern" and "Merseyrail Wirral" but plain "City" - I'm not sure whether "Merseyrail" has been added to "Northern" and "Wirral" or removed from "City", I suspect the former. Oh, and the Metropolitan County of Merseyside still exists, though it has of...

Possible confusion between Merseyrail Day Saver and Saveaway?

I wonder how many people buy Day Savers expecting them to have the same rail validity as Saveaways i.e. all trains within Merseyside? (Incidentally, is my memory playing tricks or were all rail lines in Merseyside branded as Merseyrail in pre-privatisation days?)

Merseyside day ticket options (including Merseyrail & ferry)

One or two people have said that when traveling on the ferry with a Saveaway you have to get off and get back on the next ferry (an hour later). If you're starting from the Wirral side there's plenty of time at Liverpool Pier Head to pick up a boarding pass and rejoin the same boat. As for...

    Change Advance to different TOC?

I tried a dummy exchange on the XC site and it appeared to be telling me that if I hadn't collected the ticket then I would have to do that then post it back.

    Change Advance to different TOC?

And I suppose it's really four questions as the answer in each case may depend on whether you've exchanged/excessed to another Advance or to a flexible ticket.
