    Arriva North West and Wales

I think they'll be released once the midlands get their new buses. Things seem to be moving along now after months of nothing, so shouldn't be too long.

    Arriva North West and Wales

    Bootle took delivery of the first three of six new Volvo MCV Evoras on Friday (15th) which are in LCR Metro livery but with standard Arriva interiors. Fleet numbers 3232 - BU25ZDD 3233 - BU25ZDE 3234 - BU25ZDF 3235 - BU25ZDG 3236 - BU25ZDH 3237 - BU25ZDJ 3233, 3234 & 3236 are the ones that...

    Arriva North West and Wales

5 were delivered to Bus and Coach. They're getting painted and interior refurbishment in Arriva colours. I think they're for tendered services that currently have minibuses on them. They were bought from Preston, B&C World had capacity to do the refurb. They would normally be done in house at St...

Shorter body Evora-bodied Volvo B8RLE. Which operators use them?

The short Arriva Evoras at Luton for the busway are currently being replaced by new longer versions. The short versions will then move to Arriva Merseyside to join their full length versions at Bootle (to replace older Pulsars). The long ones drive really well and don't feel as long as they...

How did the Volvo B58 get its name?

Based on that then, could it be 58(0) cubic inches which is 9.5 litres approx?

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

They were spec'd up and deals signed before the current metro mayor landed. I'm not a fan but trying to blame him for something he didn't do is poor.

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

The overnight parking at Hooton is in a platform so as it appeared to cover the side, you'd assume they were at platform level. I'm surprised they managed to do that much considering that it's all covered by cctv and would be easily visible.

    Sandhills

They are running shuttle buses to Bootle, Lime St and Liverpool ONE.

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

Buses will be running from Bramley Moore to Bootle Strand (for trains northbound, buses all over the North of the city and 2 multistorey car parks), to Lime Street for trains and to Liverpool ONE for buses East and South. I expect it'll take a while for people to find their preferred route.

    Sandhills

As with any new venue, it'll take a bit of time for people to find their preferred route. As well as Sandhills, there will be a constant flow of buses from Lime St, Liverpool ONE and Bootle Strand. Traffic issues around match time are a constant issue for Liverpool, so trying to 'encourage' more...

    Arriva North West and Wales

They'll also be running buses to the new Everton Stadium, the 929 from Liverpool ONE and 939 from Bootle Bus Station. Test events are planned through spring and then once the stadium is open properly, they'll be on for matches and other events.

HTL Buses acquired by Tower Transit

Yes, more a "licence to make a small but guaranteed profit with very little risk". HTL were too small to run / bid for any of the big areas of the LCR franchise so would probably have had to bid mainly for schools if they were to stay in operation (which being a minibus operator generally...

    Arriva North West and Wales

Green Lane have started running dedicated buses for the football matches from Liverpool ONE to Anfield / Goodison numbered 926 and 927. The 26/27 buses suffer particularly when the footy is on and this is designed to alleviate some of the issues.

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

A week or so ago, one of the 777s got stuck near to Aintree when we had the third rail killer, icy rain then more freezing temperatures. People were stuck on the train for 4 hours or so, a few hundred meters from the station. Is there any reason they wouldn't use those depot batteries to move...

Labour pledges to make Sunday trains as reliable as weekday services

Quite a depressing view point and with no evidence to base it on. The mess that was left behind may take years and years to fix but they're more likely to have a go than the other lot... who didn't bother at all.

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

Theyve had a lot of signalling issues on that section over the last few weeks... could be that?

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

That's basically what we've had. Very wet for days, then heavy snow, then frosts and intermittent snow, rain and hail. I've been driving the rail replacement for Merseyrail this week. The area of South Wirral is still blanketed in snow and the ground is absolutely sodden. I got back to my car...

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

They had a couple trains running Hooton to Chester and EPort, supplemented by buses. They were trapped at that end so I suppose they thought they might as well use them.

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

As an aside, is it possible to use a battery unit to rescue another train, assuming that the issue is ice on the third rail, and would they?

    Merseyrail Class 777 introduction updates

Whole network appears to be struggling with every line showing 'major disruption' and basically sort yourself out until further notice.
