    Commuting 60 miles: it should be cheaper by train than by car

    Moderator note: split from www.railforums.co.uk/threads/26-30-railcard-survey-plans-to-bring-in-new-restrictions.202607/#post-4501773 My commute works out cheaper to drive in my car than to use the Train for a roughly 60 mile round trip. It shouldn't work out like that; something is wrong .

    Agree it's such a waste going to be so many trains with plenty of life possibly going for scrap or just sitting around doing nothing i.e 350's , 379's , 387's , ideally they should of been of sent to Heathrow Express as they are Airport ready and the GWR 387s to C2C .
