Some questions about delay repay and refunds

Hello. I have more delayed journeys to deal with now. On one journey the first train was cancelled. We took an earlier train in order to catch the connection. The second train was then delayed by just under an hour. Had we waited for a later train for the first part, we would have missed the...

Needing a ticket in London as a result of line closure

I just found this old post https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/london-bus-strike-bus-pass-validity-on-tfl-rail-services.67248/post-1126908

Needing a ticket in London as a result of line closure

Thank you @island for replying so fast. It seems unfair to me that as a result of strikes and other closures, passengers should have to pay more take a more complicated and/or longer route and not be entitled to anything. On the other hand there's no Delay Repay for road congestion, whatever the...

Some questions about delay repay and refunds

Thank you all for your help. My group finally got our delay repay claims approved for the journey we used split tickets for.

Needing a ticket in London as a result of line closure

On some National Rail lines in London, Freedom Passes are only valid from 9:30. Similarly, children aged 5-10 without a zip card need a ticket to use some National Rail services within the Oyster zones. My question is what to do when we need to use those lines because our preferred route is...

Some questions about delay repay and refunds

The TOC asked for missing information. When I didn't provide it immediately, they said they would close my claim if I don't do so within 7 days. Are they allowed to do that? All 7 passengers had to fill out the missing information form, despite having filled out the delay repay form completely...

Trivia: unwritten etiquette as a railway passenger

There isn't always a solution that works for everyone, but there's a difference between loud music or speakerphone (which the passenger chose to put on) and unavoidable noise. What should a mum do if she needs to travel by train to take her baby to an appointment, and the constant crying may...

Some questions about delay repay and refunds

Sorry I wasn't so clear. I applied for delay repay for one journey with split tickets, and allowed less than the minimum connection time for a different journey. True, but in my case we had already bought too many adult tickets and it was easier to use two of those for children rather than...

Some questions about delay repay and refunds

Thank you all for your replies. When I contacted railcard customer services, they didn't know whether I could get a refund and whether there's a time limit to apply for it, but told me to go back to the station where I bought the second railcard and ask them. I didn't have the time to do that...

Some questions about delay repay and refunds

Hi everyone, I have some questions about compensation. Most are for myself and my family, one question is theoretical to avoid disclosing my identity. On this forum it's quite clear that I can claim delay repay on split tickets, not only for the delayed part of the journey. The TfW website...

    2040 Tube Map

It is usually Kennington via Charing Cross or Morden via Bank, occasionally Morden via Charing Cross... but both branches start/terminate at Edgware and High Barnet except "between the hours of 7am and 11am, Monday to Friday..." (an announcement that many passengers seem to tune out and then...

    2040 Tube Map

How would it work to split the Northern line? Trains go: Edgware – Bank – Morden, Edgware – Charing Cross – Kennington, High Barnet – Morden (via Bank) and High Barnet - Kennington (via Charing Cross).

Why do people still use Trainline.com?

That was my point back on page one of this thread. Trainline doesn't always show the cheapest fare. The links that I posted don't work anymore, that's why I posted the screenshots now. As an aside, I just saw an ad for Trainline on RealTimeTrains. I don't think RTT's users need Trainline!

Why do people still use Trainline.com?

Same journey, £6.70 on c2c and £11.20 on realtimetrains.

Why do people still use Trainline.com?

After I click on Add Railcard (once), it shows the discounted fares - or does it depend on which railcard you have? This worked on Trainline's own site and VTWC

Why do people still use Trainline.com?

Click on '1 adult no railcards' and then 'add railcard' before 'get times and tickets'.

Why do people still use Trainline.com?

Trainline doesn't always show the cheapest (in this case advance) fare. Compare https://tickets.c2c-online.co.uk/c2cweb/index.html#/ticket-solutions (£6.70) and...

Conwy Valley Line - Now Reopened

Has the rest of the line opened today? Realtime trains shows them all as no report. http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/BYC/2019/07/24/0600-2000?stp=WVSC&show=all&order=wtt

    Digital vs physical Railcard

A railcard doesn't clash with an Oyster card. Anything contactless does clash, for example debit cards, Tesco clubcard, etc.

A good service operates on all lines

Today the announcement in Euston, after describing the disruptions to London Overground, said there's a good service on all other London Underground lines.
