LU to Network Rail track connections.

This picture is Mantles Wood, a mile or so past Amersham station where Network Rail track joins TFL track, just by the small signs on the trackside.

Incident at Chalfont & Latimer (21/06/20)

Does Real Time Trains work on London Underground tracks? There seems to be a bit of a black hole between Harrow and Amersham at times, I had assumed because it was London Underground track. I thought time table times were shown.

Incident at Chalfont & Latimer (21/06/20)

The BBC London Transport correspondents is reporting a Chiltern service took a wrong signal at Chalfont and Latimer on the Metropolitan line and came very close to a Met line train. This seems rather worrying. https://twitter.com/BBCTomEdwards/status/1275110168104239110

    TFL London Underground Android Apps.

Met trains on platform 2 are rare as there is no route south from that platform they can use. They do use platform 2 during engineering works to terminate trains from Anersham and then reverse northbound. Platform 1 is used quite often during the evening peak for fast Amersham and Chesham...

S Stock Deliveries - No longer Suspended

There are also times when it appears random sets of doors do not open at some stations. The trains can be set not to open doors at the ends, but sometimes doors in the middle do not open. From my experience of using them, the whole stopping and starting at stations seems slower than compared...

If you are able to get a pay as you go Oyster card, this will be cheaper than a travel card. Ticket office should be open about 9:30 or you can buy in advance on line

Why the delay in opening tube doors?

Often there is a delay as the train needs to stop in a pre defined area for the right side door assist system to allow the doors to be opened. There is a fixed mark the train has to stop. If it has not stopped in the right place, the doors cannot be opened by default. I know on the new S...

    Northwick Park Access

Yes, the station is under the tracks with entrances both side. The south exit goes out onto the park I believe

Line Speed for the Metropolitan line from Finchley Road to Moor Park?

There are plans to make all off peak Amersham / Chesham services stop all stations from December. There are concerns that the extra use of Watford South junction with trains crossing to and from the slow lines will cause delays and have a knock on affect to Chiltern by delaying them and not...
