    Sydenham to Guildford by 10am.

Don't rely on GWR at all this week. Many trains cancelled due to 'more trains than usual needing repairs'.

Travel over Christmas period, cannot get fares information

There could be a strike, just like last year.

TfL proposes to withdraw Day Travelcards

To me, the advantage of paper travelcards is that you can't be caught out or fined (charged full fare or penalty) if you forget to tap in/out. I am a very forgetful person.

London Travel Zones - How Far Out? Heathrow.

Also, paper travelcards are not valid between St Pancras and Stratford International. Oyster and PAYG are valid, but the fare will be extra and not part of the cap.

Season Ticket Options From Epsom to Guildford

    Thanks, this explanation makes sense.

Season Ticket Options From Epsom to Guildford

Just to confirm, The Routeing Point Calculator does not allow routeing via Guildford for Epsom to Gomshall (only Dorking), but National Rail Journey Planner shows that routes via Guildford are the same price as via Dorking. And if no route is selected it gives options via Dorking or Guildford...

Season Ticket Options From Epsom to Guildford

I doubt the ticket would work at Dorking. My current ticket, which I will no longer need, is Gomshall to zones 4-6 any permitted. Despite being clearly valid at each, it does not work at Redhill, Dorking, Leatherhead or Epsom stations. Very annoying.

Season Ticket Options From Epsom to Guildford

Thanks, It looks like Epsom to Gomshall is cheapest, I hope the ticket will work at Dorking Station gates, they reject a lot. If I wanted to travel on to Caterham I would have to get an extension Dorking to Caterham ticket, valid via Redhill

Season Ticket Options From Epsom to Guildford

Am I correct in assuming that using this combination of tickets I can travel between Epsom and Guildford either via Dorking/Gomshall or Effingham Junction? Is there a cheaper way? From BOX HILL&WHMBLE To GUILDFORD Route ANY PERMITTED 12 months £2,604.00 From LEATHERHEAD To EPSOM Route 12...

I'm surprised how many people are still buying tickets within the London zones.

Paper fares are the only option, as far as I can see, if you already possess a ticket and wish to travel beyond that ticket but cannot get out of the train to swipe at the correct station, because the train does not stop, or even if it did, the dwell time is too short.

    Boundary Zone Fares Not Available

Ok, thanks, I suppose I get 1/3 off any fare with my gold card, so Thornton Heath to Raynes Park (SWR) would be £2.80, even cheaper via Southern (Mitcham Junction) at £2.35.

    Boundary Zone Fares Not Available

I looked up boundary zone 4 fares to Clapham Junction (CLJ) on brfares.com and it seems none available. Are there any boundary zone x fares to stations within the boundary zone? I have a Gomshall to London Zones 4,5,6 annual season ticket (any permitted). I wish to travel from Upper Warlingham...

    Season Ticket Start Date

I have an annual season ticket. The expiry date is shown in large bold text, but no start date is shown. The validity (12 months) is shown. Many websites state that season tickets can only be purchased in advance the previous afternoon, or Friday if due to start Monday. I am wondering why this...

    Epsom to St Pancras International

The national rail journey planner suggests going via Vauxhall and Victoria line, why not via London Bridge and Thameslink to St Pancras? Which is faster/more efficient/easier? I have to get 10.24 Eurostar to Paris.

Fares reform consultation - which option are you most in favour of? (poll)

None of three options are any good. The aim should be to lower the price of fares for everyone - there should be no losers. In order to recoup the same amount of revenue or preferably higher, then more people need to travel by train. Even most peak services are rarely full these days.

    Journey Planner Showing Incorrect Fares?

This weekend, 2nd-3rd March, engineering works seem to be closing the quarry lines, so all trains are going through Redhill. As a result, there are no trains from Purley to Redhill, and a 12 minute journey becomes 42 minutes. You have to go via East Croydon. Leaving aside the fact that trains...

Journey Planner and Clapham Junction Interchange

After all that, I missed my connection. The Reigate to Victoria arrived at Purley on time (08.24), was delayed into East Croydon, waited some minutes at platform 5, and made an unscheduled stop at Selhurst (which was not recorded on realtime trains).

    Circular return routing query

This occurs quite often for people making complicated journeys. The distances and routes covered are exactly the same, just taken in a different order. which is not allowed. The railway does itself no favour with these types of rules. A season ticket would be valid in this case, but a non season...

Journey Planner and Clapham Junction Interchange

I wish to travel between Caterham and Epsom tomorrow morning. Due to engineering work, the preferred route via Norwood Junction is not available. The national rail journey planner suggests going via Clapham Junction (CLJ), which is fine, but then suggests a wait of 38 minutes at CLJ. This is...
