11 December Daily Mail cryptic crossword clue (paper illegible)

Slightly random question, but:

Does anyone still have the Daily Mail from 11 December please?

My Mums paper has (was purchased with) a large clue ink splodge over the cryptic crossword clue for 26 down, making it illegible.

If anyone knows what the clue was, it’d be appreciated (for what it’s worth, the answer is 4 letters, potentially with A second and E fourth).

I can’t find a previous clue database online for her (which doesn’t require a subscription), so thought as a long shot, I’d ask here!

No idea! It's a colleague that takes the Mail so I very much got it from their copy they've left lying around.
