Can anyone remember the new 12d Railtour operator that ran the successful charity tour in May 2010 from Workington to York. I believe it was operated by employees from Network Rail / DRS and Northern Rail in Cumbria (Spitfire tours were used as booking agents).
They used the former DRS Mk3 FO stock used on the Cumbrian Flood Relief trains. It was a fantastic day out and I travelled from Manchester on the Friday evening and stayed in Workington over the Weekend. The tour was well ran and was completely full up (I understand they could have filled the train twice over).
When I got off at Workington I spoke to one of the staff who said they have plans to operate tours from Cumbria in the future, but as it now being two years ago I was wondering what happened to the idea.
Does anyone know any of the guys who ran 12D?
