The Gatwick Express is supposed to be suspended, but the 1729 Victoria to Brighton is shown in the timetable as being operated by Gatwick Express.

What is the contactless fare from Victoria to Gatwick on this train?

If you use the contactless readers on the platform 13 and 14 gateline, you will be charged the standalone "Gatwick Express" fare. If you use any other readers or gateline you will be charged the "normal" fare.

Forum members have reported that the platform 13 and 14 gateline has been disabled, and that passengers are redirected to alternative gatelines, to prevent anyone from being charged the higher fares.

Surely, given the train is a Gatwick Express train, the platform staff would be expecting passengers to use the Oyster readers on platforms 13/14?

Why is this train run by Gatwick Express when similar trains at 1659 and 1759 are run by Southern?

It seems the platform 13/14 barriers are semi-permanently out of use. But the only way to find out for sure is to see which gateline passengers are directed to for that departure.

All of these services are run by the same company, Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) - Gatwick Express and Southern are just brands. It may just be an error by GTR or Network Rail in the timetabling process.
