Will fit in well with all those rusting coaches in Carnforth!State of it...
Another example of how anything non steam just doesn't seem to mean a lot to the NRM.

I assume it is a trip over a wheel lathe to sort out the wheel profile. What is a "tyre flip"?
Doesn't it. I thought the Barrow to Manchester Airport had taken a turn for the better.A Syphon dragging a dead unit. That brings back happy memories!
Which is universally known as “tyre turning”. I have never heard the term “tire [sic] flip”.I assume it is a trip over a wheel lathe to sort out the wheel profile.
I was only fortunate enough to have this happen to me on one occasion. It was mid July 1988 or 1989, and our school railway society's annual trip was to Wales that year. We arrived at a junction station, which I think must have been Clarbeston Road from having looked at a map, to see a Railfreight liveried 37 at the head of a DMU. We took it to the end of the line, probably Milford Haven but I'm not sure. There it ran round and brought us back. It was the luckiest break I ever had in terms of haulage.A Syphon dragging a dead unit. That brings back happy memories!
Those of us of the older generation can probably associate with similar tales of this.I was only fortunate enough to have this happen to me on one occasion. I believe it was 37198, but have been unable to find any record of the working.
I suppose it must have been easier to get hold of a 37 than a working DMU in that part of the world at short notice!
