Hi, I’ve been practicing the 2 hand coordination test on bought software and found that diagonal manouvering can be done by simply doing a horizontal and vertical application at the same time.
My question is, are people doing this on the actual test or feel safer just zig zagging up or down a horizontal?
Thanks

It's just whatever you feel comfortable with on the day. Try not to complete the practice attempt straight away, give yourself a few goes to get used to the controls and go from there.

Thankyou, zig zagging up or down diagonal parts of the track would be the more safer option to not lose control but at the expense of speed so it’s a bit of a toss up I suppose

I believe I did horizontal and vertical at the same time but only because I was used to that from working on cranes. The practice track is the same track you'll do the actual test on so that's why it's a good idea to use the practice as much as possible.

Thanks for the advice, much appreciated

For me I found playing first person view shooting games beneficial. The two analog sticks on a PS4 controller whilst playing call of duty.

Sounds farfetched I know but moving the camera and aiming, all hand eye coordination.

I have found the members of this forum very generous with their advice and sharing the benefits of their experiences.
When I searched for this test on here, the best advice I found was to take your time with the practice part. Don’t push the ball all the way to the finish line and this then allows you to practice a bit longer. You’ll then be more prepared for the real test.
I was also told that the joysticks can and do come off lol so nice and lightly does it.
I was the last to finish this test out of my group and I passed it.

Good luck

Do you mind me asking roughly what the shape of the track is please as would be interested to see if something similar is on the practice software I have. Thanks

Imagine the letters CVT conjoined. A bit like that. Was when I did it anyway.

Maybe a bit more like SVL, but it could well have changed.

You go from right to left, and as you exit the S, it goes straight into the L of the next test, think you do it like 10 times?

I was always told that they’re not necessarily looking at how quick you do them all, although you’re expected to do them at a reasonable pace. What’s important is how quick you’re able to correct yourself should you go outside the lines.

Thanks for the reply, does the diagram above look familiar? seems to go with the CVT layout you originally said

FWIW, although there is nothing that can accurately replicate the real test, I found that the online practice test helped a lot to familiarise myself with the format.
Especially if you can find the actual shape used in the OPC tests.

Evening all, how quickly should one be aiming to complete each 'page' of the 2 hand coordination test? I appreciate you may not know specifics, but those who've done it and passed, how quickly did you do each one?

Speed is open to interpretation for example could I have made a shot on call of duty faster than the test, or was I going slower than I thought. It's strange how you will find it my group everyone felt they failed but we all passed. It's more about how you react to things going wrong and acting accordingly than trying to be in the lines all the time because you won't.

What a great answer! It’s all about getting to the end without going out of the lines, as quick as you can but if you go out then how quick do you get back in!! You can’t learn to do these tests, you either can or can’t!!

You still have to complete a certain amount of tests in a set time though, I thought I made more mistakes towards the end as I was concerned Id run out of time before finishing.

I got the impression you are expected to finish each test on these.

Oops, ignore that, I replied to the wrong person

I’m pretty sure it’s about reaction time/speed. How quickly you get back on the track. And improvement throughout the 10 attempts. So if you practice for a long time on the practice tests. You aren’t going to improve at all. I passed this to enhanced level. And thought I did really badly. Only completed the two practice runs. Went out an awful lot of times on the first 3/4 and got better as the test went on. But to be honest I’m not really sure what they are looking for. Best of luck. Going forward.

Thanks for this. I sat this assessment recently and failed to meet the required standard because I was too slow.

Hi, how did you get this image? Is there any software that allows you to practice it like this? The Traineedriver one lets you practice but in reverse, and like you say, you can get a smooth diagonal motion and I remember (when I failed) it was jerky. I think I will make use of the advice that says to practice a lot on the practice page.

Personally I think that’s the worse thing you can do. If you keep practising. How can you improve throughout the 10 stage test. Entirely up to you. But I wouldn’t advise that’s the best way.

You can discover anything on the internet and I did so much research from these forums and other places that there were no surprises on the day! Many people on here object to this method but depends how much you want it
