I don`t have exact data about weekends diagrams but of course they work saturdaysThanks, any non Gatwick to London Saturdays?
If you mean Gatwick Express/Southern sets weekdays 21 set of 26 diagrammed. 14 sets work all Gatwick Express services Victoria to Brighton (1W/1M headcodes + 1A71 and 1D98/1U03) in various formations (4,8 or 12 car). Also 5 single set booked for East Coastway services between Brighton and Eastbourne/Hastings/Ore. Two more sets working morning peak Littlehampton to London Bridge and evening return.
90% utilisation ought to be fairly normal for the Electrostar/Desiro generation of EMU. IIRC at one time SWT had a period with 42 x 444 diagrams, that’s 93% of 45 units. So stating southern have a shortage of units when they 5 of 26 387/2's on maintenance every day (19% of fleet) with 2 more just running for about 2 hours, then sitting on Selhurst all day. That seems excessive for maintenance on electric stock (although if someone can explain why its about right I'd be happy to learn - I am not an expert).

FCC class 365s were diagrammed 38 of 40 units in the weekday peaks, which was 95%.90% utilisation ought to be fairly normal for the Electrostar/Desiro generation of EMU. IIRC at one time SWT had a period with 42 x 444 diagrams, that’s 93% of 45 units.
After withdrawal of the 455s and 313s Southern usage of its fleet is well. Weekdays diagrammed 25 of 28 377/3s, 30 of 34 377/6/7s, 137 of 154 377/1/2s and 21 of 26 387s - all similiar. If it would or will be requied Southern can add pair of 387s and three or four more 377s in booked (diagrammed) working. SWR has one case of similiar usage of its 444s - 41 of 45 and one case of more intensive usage for greater class 450s - 120 of 127 (on paper). So stating southern have a shortage of units when they 5 of 26 387/2's on maintenance every day (19% of fleet) with 2 more just running for about 2 hours, then sitting on Selhurst all day. The outlier of that is the 387s at around 80%. That is low for a modern EMU - you'd expect around 90% availability, or 23 units from 26.After withdrawal of the 455s and 313s Southern usage of its fleet is well.
