I was amazed to see an 8-car red 455 train heading Up towards Redbridge on the River Test causeway at around 15.15. I assume that it had been to Bournemouth Depot?

It will have been in the daily up direction Q path (as required) that I've mentioned before, used for depot to depot transfers. Sometimes you'll see 458s.

Yes, there was a pair two weeks ago and I passed another pair somewhere between Winchester and Basingstoke this afternoon.
