Reported on WNXX this morning that the hire to DCR has now finished, 56098 is in need of a heavy exam and is being deemed surplus to requirements by GBRf, so it's now faced with an uncertain future, investment in an exam, sale to DCR or Colas, preservation, another 69 conversion are all possible while an unfit 56081 also sits at Longport

56098 not giving up yet, it worked yesterdays (16th) 1450 0Z56 Leicester LIP to Drax AES (GBRf) to pose for pictures to celebrate Drax 50 Years

56098 using up it's final hours worked yesterdays (19th) 1858 5Q74 Peterborough North Yard GBRf to Old Dalby hauling 801101 after coming down from Doncaster on 5Q73 and then 2110 0E56 to Leicester LIP

Reported by more than one source that 56098 will be coming back to life today on loan to DCR working 1820 0Z60 Leicester LIP to Aylesbury via Grantham & ECML and will, presumably, work the Aylesbury/Quainton moves this week while 56103 remains unavailable

Reported on WNXX this morning that the 'F' exam didn't take place but a 'B' was authorised instead and carried out by UKRL at Leicester, 098 arrived at Aylesbury last night and is due to start with 0Z21 to Quainton Railhead this morning

I haven't seen any reasons for 103s current visit or the last one either, just one rumour/report that it was suffering electrical problems

After taking failed 60055 to Leicester LIP on Friday 56098 worked back to Willesden on todays 1050 0Z56 to continue its hire to DCR

After doing some further Aylesbury / Quainton work for DCR 56098 returned to Leicester LIP on 20th November, it was due to return to Willesden on 26th November but failed almost immediately and has been out of service since

It worked todays 0924 0Z56 Leicester LIP to Toton Centre hauling 57310 with the locos changing roles for 1010 0Z57 return, 56098 then worked 1220 5Z07 to Loughborough Brush with two barrier vehicles and 1430 0Z07 return to Leicester LIP
