I have been given an interview date of 3rd September. Good luck!

I'm sorry to hear that Katey89. Don't let it dishearten you, keep trying and fingers crossed for next time!
I'm sure I have seen on this page a few members not being successful the first few goes. At least you have the experience of the application now.
I wouldn't worry too much about the medical delaying a start date, my original one was cancelled due to covid and the medical I eventually had was while I was on week 6 of signalling school.I've just had my medical booked, which is in three weeks time, but on the email from recruitment they said I may be contacted to discuss availability for a start date only after they get my acceptance form (and do the background checks which I have now completed/sent to them), so does that mean that I may get told my start date before I've completed the medical, and I'm assuming that the start date itself has to be after I've completed the medical?
Well I’m thinking it’ll be quite obvious who I am but how will I know you two?! Unless I’m mistaken about your genders!! Is anyone on the 7th at Coventry?Looking forward to meeting you on all the 7th! @MrsP2010 @Kinglewood
Give the mock tests a good go to get a feel for what you are expecting is my best advice !I know this has probably been asked a million times but what is the verbal and numerical tests like? Had email today asking to complete within 5days for dullingham role
We’ll all have to say our forum name as part of the introsWell I’m thinking it’ll be quite obvious who I am but how will I know you two?! Unless I’m mistaken about your genders!! Is anyone on the 7th at Coventry?
Oooh that just makes it all exciting!!!We’ll all have to say our forum name as part of the intros
I've just looked on the Network Rail website and a signaller job is advertised at Doncaster. However it's a grade 9 level. I know it's very unlikely I'd get anywhere with it at that level but nothing to lose trying.
Has anyone ever got straight into a level 9 role with no experience?
I’ll be wearing a pink carnation.Well I’m thinking it’ll be quite obvious who I am but how will I know you two?! Unless I’m mistaken about your genders!! Is anyone on the 7th at Coventry?
Haha!!!I’ll be wearing a pink carnation.
It goes to Dalwhinnie pretty sure it does. Or are you meaning the bells with the signallers?Question folks if I may, does anyone know which boxes the Kingussie relief covers? I'm assuming Kingussie, Dalwhinnie and Blair Atholl, but if the railway has taught me anything it's never to assume!
Ah, I got my rejection email for the Future Opportunities ad. They have really upped their game though, it says I'm a "silver medallist" and they'll keep my details on file, which is an endearing way to put it!
Check your email again. They sent out a bunch of these. I had one even though I have been given and interview date. The silver email was swiftly followed by another recalling the first and then a 3rd apologising that the 1st had been sent in error and reconfirming my interview, so definitely check your email again as you may have another !!
Yes I had it this afternoon also. Someone in HR has had a bit of a meltdown I think. Hopefully you'll get another. Fingers crossed for you!Ahhhh really?! Thanks for the heads-up and congratulations on getting an interview! I have no other emails though. I only got my email this afternoon so I assume they sent the wrong ones to the successful people first and then the correct ones to the rest of us today.
No, I mean which boxes the Relief Signaller based at Kingussie covers - but I've already received the answer from another source, the relief only covers Kingussie and Dalwhinnie boxes. It goes to Dalwhinnie pretty sure it does. Or are you meaning the bells with the signallers?
Seems a rather bizarre question if you don’t mind me saying so. Surely the answer is the same for a bloke who applied? Traditionally a job done by men, yes, but as to ask what attracted you to the job is surely an individual thing regardless of sex? Likely answers, Salary, Benefits, time off, job security etc.. Or am I missing something with the question? Yes there is great opportunities available for female applicants possibly with improved chances at the sift, surely after that the recruitment process will select the best candidate for the job regardless..There seems to quite a influx of ladies in the recruitment process at the moment, can i ask what attracted you to the job?
Also what are your expectations once your in the box?

I was attracted to the job because it appeared a good fit for my skill set and personality type, I wanted job security, a decent wage and it suits my lifestyle. From my own experience I prefer working in a male dominated environment, however it wasn't really a factor in me wanting to apply. There seems to quite a influx of ladies in the recruitment process at the moment, can i ask what attracted you to the job?
