Had an enjoyable day out in the sun around the midlands today. First up, one of the sleepers was reported to be running decades late - so off I went to Tamworth - what a waste of petrol! The damn thing caped/pined at Crewe!<( Back towards home to pick up a friend, and then RA to Willington for 47237 + 2 barriers which we just managed to get to:

Round the corner to Findern then for 6D44 cum 0D44 which had 37670 in the consist:

Brucie Bonus here was 66141 with some MEA box wagons -

Back down the A38 then to Elford, originally just for a Freightliner 66 and then RA to Grendon for the NMT. However, my phone rang just as we were wibbling about going - 60091 was on 6E41 and was at Water Orton. One NMT fot duly shelved in favour of a yomp down the field for said 60:

Despite the NMT (and the sun!) being long gone by now, Grendon was still visited for a pair of 86s: http://www.ferret.fotopic.net/p57700967.html
