Hi all,

I'm looking at doing a day trip to the Anglia area to get a ride behind the 68s and 37s. I'm also planning on trying to get a ride of a 153 in. What I am wanting is the diagrams for the 153s if possible please?

Thanks

Everywhere you don't want them to be, generally, from a crews perspective.

Felixstowe is your best bet, otherwise they're on yarmouths, lowestofts or east suffolks mainly. Unless you're wanting to plan in detail just go to Norwich, there'll be one going somewhere!

Felixstowe is the only line where they are booked for almost all services.

If you are a total masochist you could catch the 1258 Norwich - Lowestoft which becomes the 1407 Lowestoft - Ipswich which becomes the 1554 Ipswich - Lowestoft which becomes the 1750 Lowestoft - Norwich

 that was going to be my suggestion !

I'd pop down to The Coach and Horses instead, far more enjoyable.

Early I know, but the 05-something Ipswich-Cambridge and 0642 return is a booked 153 on a weekday. I think it then toddles off to Felixstowe.

0510 Ipswich to Cambridge (314 today Mon) then 2W05 back to Ispwich, then onto the Felixstowe with 2R06 0825

Then you can enjoy the spectacle of two 153s passing at Derby Road on the return journey, a sight to bring a tear to anyone's eye.

21:17 Ipswich -Cambridge & 22:44 Cambridge - Ipswich.

If you have access to the technology on the day, keep an eye on the Train Formation Updates section under Journey Check on the Greater Anglia website.

https://www.journeycheck.com/greateranglia/?_ga=1.162472508.1644228596.1476598889

For example displayed now :
18:52 Sheringham to Norwich due 19:46
Will be formed of 1 coach instead of 2.

19:56 Sheringham to Norwich due 20:55
Will be formed of 1 coach instead of 9.

Although it is disappointing not to have seen 9 coaches on the Sheringham branch.

Correcting myself, the early Cambridge trip actually ran as a 156 this morning.

The first Cambridge to Ipswich is usually a 153, then it forms the 8:30 Felixstowe

It forms the 08:25 to Felixstowe then cars to Crown Point. Although twice recently when I've worked it freight congestion on the branch resulted in the cancellation of this service & a sprightly run behind the 07:00 ex-Lst for an early finish :D
