Not many get a free ride anymore. We’ve got some very proactive conductors these days who will hunt out every penny. No doubt we were no angels travelling to/from school.
Definitely made me chuckle reading the posts from people getting those fraud letters/emails. Glad they're getting caught so it doesn't feel like I'm paying for their free rides.

Another Gold for the 755/4 fleet at the Modern Railways Spanners. At this rate GA are goiing to need a gallery built to display the awards and trophies theyve won in the last few years.

Wholly deserved too. This is the best fleet of regional trains in the country. It is proof of what van happen when you spend a bit more to buy a quality product and commit to spending the money to maintain them and investing in enough staff and training to do it. By far these are the best regional trains in the country.

Does anyone know if the Liverpool Street turns will continue from the December timetable change on GA for 755s please?

Just had a look at drivers diagrams from Monday 16th and they show the triple traction diagrams start from Norwich with the 07:30 (SX) 07:32 (SO).

Not really any change at all. Still on the same diagram, but departing 2 minutes later. Still waiting for rtt to show.

No it’s 07:32 (SO) now.
Thanks. Also from Sunday 15th they’ve changed the no first class scheduled to the hourly stoppers from the fewer fast services (11:00up) to the (11:30up).

Oh I hadn’t noticed that. The 12:00up set swap is always a bit tight and annoying so not looked to see if that’s still in.

I have to say, today’s 1530 from Liv St to Norwich (755418+422) is absolutely packed. Eight cars isn’t enough, definitely not.

The usual eleven carriage formation is out today, but on the fast services that skip Stratford and that lot.

15:30 is not booked for triple traction. It’s a pair of 755s today vice the normal 745.

Worked well for me as 422 is one of my last 5 required! Unfortunately, two of the remaining 4 are in the triple set, but they’re not stopping at Stratford ;)

Nice one. Looks like 422 had 418 attached in time to form the 08:00up this morning and the duo will remain on diagram for the remainder of the day.

I was just walking past it and saw it fly by thinking it would be fun but it is a substitution. The 15:00 is also an 11 car 755 and the 14:00 is a 745/1 (though both are booked in the timetable as standard only with a trolley service rather than first class with buffet).

I can confirm the eight carriage service did have a trolley in the rear portion, though I bet it was way too full for it to pass. It would definitely have been in the front portion where I was travelling.

Colchester is the only official location where trolleys move between units.

Sorry I worded it badly so it looks like I was saying something else

This should say it would definitely have been too full in the front portion where I was travelling for the trolley to pass through had it been there.

I wasn’t saying it was in the front with me. It wasn’t :)

Haha no problem. They do static on the triple traction if too full which is a good deal of the time these days on certain services.

Yes double traction was filling in for 745006 on the 10th diagram though thankfully, it was taken off on Saturday. Only the usual triple traction running today.

I hope this is not a trend starting, double traction is inadequate and will start pushing people away with overcrowding if it starts to become common. It's possibly sensible to have 745s on Stansted express over Christmas but generally it's better to have the 720s and keep as many 745s on intercity.

I agree, if they’re short of 745s they should always stick more 720s on Stansted and send the 745/1s to Norwich, but if the substitution is last minute and they don’t have the stock in the right place they use what they have available and if that’s only a 7 or 8 car 755 it’s better than a cancellation.

Yes of course, leaving Norwich yesterday, there were 2 745/1s parked up at Vic sidings & 1 in crown point (103, 104 & 106) hence why there’s 3 720s been on the Stansted diagram for a month which I think is a better stock change, but also keeping the triple traction. If a last minute sub was to happen again for a 745, they should form no shorter then 10 coaches (4x3x3) for rush hour capacity.
