I’m not sure if this is the correct thread for this but my grandad gave this to me in the 1990’s. I’m not sure if the frame is the original but it is the timetable for the Eastern & Midlands Railway, April 1883, serving Yarmouth, Norwich Central, Eastern Norfolk, Midland, North Eastern Counties & London. The black stripe down the middle is owing to smoke damage as it used to hang in my Grandad’s pub and the backing had a split in it. I would love if anyone could provide me with any further information regarding this or let me know who I should contact for further information. Thank you.

Great poster - pity about the smoke damage! What do you need to know? If you Google "Midland and Great Northern Railway" you will find a Wikipedia article which gives quite a lot of information about the Eastern and Midlands Railway - it was one of the constituents of the M&GN.

Welcome to the forum. I am sorry that you have so far had rather a thin response to your interesting post.

You may not be aware that various reprints of old Bradshaw timetables for the whole network have been produced over the years. I am aware of ones for 1863, 1887 and 1895 so far as the nineteenth century is concerned. These obviously give a fuller picture of historic service patterns that a single 'broadsheet'.

There are also various atlases, lists of railway companies, station directories, etc. if you want to do more systematic research.
