And Southend now too! - right next to the terminal

Tees(-)side Airport station exists (and once in a while - and no more than that - trains stop there), but it's not directly connected to the airport, it's in the wrong place entirely.

London City Airport has a DLR station right next to it.

Stansted - right next to it too.

Luton Airport Parkway - not right next to the airport.

Birmingham - connected by monorail to Birmingham International station

Manchester - has its own station

East Midlands Airport has an 'almost dedicated' station?

Liverpools a 10 minute bus ride from the station similar to Birminghams transit. Manchester stations in the centre of the airport within walking distance of all terminals, Heathrow has multiple stations for different terminals but not all trains serve all terminals. Edinburgh Airport will have the tram station (cross fingers) but a heavy rail station was cancelled by the SNP for being too expensive (£300m).

The Scottish Executive also cancelled a link to Glasgow Airport from the North Clyde lines.

And don't forget Dyce for Aberdeen Airport, and Pinhoe for Exeter Airport.

Leuchars - Well, perhaps soon.

Dundee Riverside Airport - Is on the same Road as the Railway Station.

Paisley International Airport - Isn't that far from either of the Paisley Rail stations.

I will never understand the thinking behind the cancellation, seems such an obvious link to have.

There is a derelict station at Finningley (Lincoln - Doncaster line) close to Robin Hood Airport (Doncaster).

It is understood that planning permission for a new station slightly further north to serve the airport has recently been granted by Doncaster Council, and that discussions are currently taking place between the local authority, Network Rail and the various TOCs with a view to opening the new station in 2012.

If you look at the budget overun on "The Edinburgh Tram" fiasco, that may well give you a clue.

Regular Bus Service from GLA to City Centre plus rail/bus option Paisley Gilmour Street.

Edinburgh Airport is busier than Glasgow Airport.

aberdeen ??? though is a bit awkward for public transport from dyce

There is a bus from Airport to Dyce Railway Station that meets each train -not that big though if you have a load of cases.

Wick Railway Station is only about 1 mile odd from Wick Airport.

Although someone at Gatwick or Birmingham has an "in-house" station I can guarantee that after landing in Wick and collecting your bag you would be in town before most passengers at the other two had even made it to the baggage carousel.

Only problem would be "one train a fortnight" only joking !!!

As has been mentioned, Newcastle has the T&W Metro. But the Metro is light rail, and it's about twelve stops to Central, where you change for NR services.

Durham Tees Valley might as well not have a railway station in the vicinity (Teeside Airport station), since it's service is ridiculously limited! Is it still one train a week or something like that?

My favourite is on the Isle of Man - Ronaldsway Halt on the Isle of Man Railway has steam services, located a short walk from the airport, although the bus services are more frequent! As you can see from the link, the facilities are numerous at this international airport station!
